| How to keep bellyband "in place" on Chihuahua? About two month ago we are foster parenting an almost two year old Chihuahua. He had been totally neglected and was also not potty trained nor neutered. We purchased some belly bands from Joy but the problem is that no matter how snug the belly band is on him, it always slides down a bit so that his member "peeks" out and therefore he still is able to mark and pee. I try to put it on really tight but of course not to the point where it is uncomfortable with it. I am hoping that anyone has a suggestion what else I could try. Thanks a lot. Anita |

| i have no experience on the issue, but i was thinkin maybe if you put him in some sort of shirt or outfit where it would cover his whole underside then he would be covered no matter if it rode down or not. or perhaps you could take an ace bandage and wrap that around most of his torso. i dunno really, just tryin to give u some ideas. |

| Hmmmm.... perhaps the belly band isn't wide enough, or maybe it's just that his little member is too big! That's really weird - I have a male chi who marks and I've never had his belly band slip out of place. Do you line the belly band in a thick pad? This might keep it from slipping. Wish I could be of more help.

| A wider band with elastic down the sides would probably help. I've made these before, if you are interested let me know. They look like this. |

Chloe, I am very interested in yours with the elastic on both sides, may I ask how much they are? Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Last edited by AngeliFlad; 11-08-2005 at 02:07 PM.

| I think she said she uses a full bad on the inside of the bellyband to make it fit snug and it catches all the pee. My Little Mickey always gets his belly bands off. |

| Sorry, I get in a hurry some times. I use a depends incontinence pad on the inside of the belly band. You said you used an overnight pad, I tried those first but they would slip off, the incontience pads hold in place and really absorb the mosture. Sonja |

Can you buy those incontinence pads at drugstores like walgreens, or target as well?
