| I have to add that I love our puppy cam too. I'm so much more comfortable leaving them at home (though I still don't want to) when I can check in on them from my phone with the puppy cam. I couldn't say where it was from because my BF got it and set it up for us but I love it. |

| Yep! The "doors" are mesh. It folds up and fits in a bag. I've taken it with me on airplanes. I even took it with me to Canada last year when Sadie and I went to visit my son. I can't tell you how much I love this pen.

| I'm glad you started this thread because we are going through the same thing with our new little boy, Ian. We put a gate up across our bedroom door, and he stays there but will scream. whine and bark when we leave. He sounds like he is in severe pain when he does this. I'll have to find another gate because he jumped the one we have (after I threw the box out, so I can't return it). We couldn't believe he got out because it is pretty tall, but I'm so happy he didn't hurt himself. I plan to get Rescue Remedy for Pets on Monday and see if that will help. Since I'm on vacation and home a lot (in and out), I dread to see how he will act when I go back to work. You got a lot of great ideas from everyone. Hopefully one of them will help us.

| Yes....as Salazark said....giving a few treats as you're leaving works wonders. You always want to pair a "negative" event, like leaving, with a "positive", like giving a few treats. It will help with grooming issues too. You can get some soft training treats, break them into "tiny" pieces and give while they are learning to tolerate something new being done to them...teeth brushing, nail trimming, etc. Another thing that works well is a kong. It's a rubber toy that you can slip a treat into and the dog has to try and figure out how to get it out. After he eats his treats you've sprinkled on the floor (and after you've left your apartment) he will then turn to the kong to try and get the treat out. This will keep his little terrier brain busy for a good while after your gone. He won't be thinking of you. Also, leave on the radio or t.v. set. so it's not deadly quiet in the home. Hope you find this helpful. |

| A similar idea I use a baby playpen called a PackNPlay for my Snickers who suffers from Separation Anxiety. Here is a thread of a friend who used the same idea: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ck-n-play.html Here is a pic of Snick's playpen....he loves it so much!! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...e-img_2468.jpg http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...e-img_2469.jpg He loves to look out the window and when we are home, he is always standing by his pen wanting to go in and chew his bully. I found mine used, very clean, and well kept for 10 bucks. Others have bought them brand new. It works very well, Snick is not a jumper or climber so it's perfect for him. Good luck--the pet pens look AWESOME!!!! Happy new year- Snick & Viv

| Blue Buffalo has some good training treats. They don't have anything in them that is supposed to set off allergies. I think they come in deboned chicken and deboned turkey. I use the turkey flavor. Daisy LOVES them. I was at Petsmart today and I saw that Wellness has some soft training treats too. They looked like they would be pretty healthy as well. I may try them too next time. |

| Avoid overly acidic treats as you may need to give a lot of them... I have to note Mello Mut MELLOW MUT® again (seriously they need to start kicking me some free product for all this promoting) Scoobers has major separation anxiety issues! Have you tried leaving the TV on or a radio? Now to be honest you need to work on the behavior aspect practicing leaving for short periods and showing you will come back etc. Please read up on various methods and exercises for people whom have dogs with anxiety issues-it won't just go away. The poster above me mentioned Blue Buffalo treats-they are good I prefer Zuke's Mini Naturals Zukes Mini Naturals – Dog Training Treats, The Perfect Training Treat for Dogs as they are made specifically for small dogs-you may want to use plain old boiled chicken breast for treats if you are going to be giving a lot in a single time period.[/FONT] So glad you got a play yard! If it doesn't work for you Target has a North gate 6 panel play yard in their baby section=it's cheap and worth a try because its easy to clean, I use the Best Pet soft sided play yard, if your baby escapes from the play yard you get try the target one I use a kennel (traditional hard plastics travel kennel) for my dog with separation anxiety-he's hurt himself otherwise...but now I have a room he can be free in so... Thats too funny, that's EXACTLY the play pen I got her!!! Thank u so much for ur advice!! I decided to practice some of it and it seems like is working..... I am letting her stay in the bathroom w a baby gate (until the play pen comes) while I am in the house w her... She cried a lot for about 30 minutes but I ignored it, I made sure she could see me every 10 minutes or so... And se got calm and quiet... Also when i left to have lunch w my friends, i made sure the TV was on.... It worked!!! Fingers crossed still works like that... I tried the baby carrots and she hated it... Tried the peanut butter treats, no luck... Pineapples... Nada... So now im going to try the plain chicken breast treats... Thx for all ur advice... U guys are great!!!
