I only had one place that came up to me and said "Is that a service dog?" and I replied, "Do you think it is?" and he looked at me strange and I just went back to my shopping (Which was just to pick up a couple items quickly/in&out). Then he said, "Only service dogs are allowed in the store", to which I replied, "That's good to know." and made my way to the check out.
He was new. I couldn't resist.

Home depot has a sign now that says no dogs, but bf still takes Uni and puts her in a cart, they haven't kicked him out before. I've seen someone with a yorkie (not very friendly, the lady and the dog) in a cart at Joanns. So I took Uni once just to grab something, and she was in my purse. The cashier girl didn't look too impressed. I've not seen her since.

Of course, any one who is local to me, can bring their dogs into my shop any day! we've had play days here!

So it's okay to bring dogs into Ross?? I go there all the time and would LOVE to bring my babies in...but I thought they don't allow dogs... It's okay!! I will be getting a stroller soon I have brought my babies into home depot and it was fine...I think it may vary from location to location? The home depot I went to was in the bay area.

Will DEFINITELY have you check out your store one of these days!! Carmel and Emma would LOVE to join in on a play date

I have been into malls & stores of all kinda with my baby. No one has ever seemed to care, except this one time that I had her & I needed to stop somewhere it was an emergency. & I didnt have her bag (I now keep it with me at all times) but I had her blankie, so i wrapped her in it & i got yelled at but i just kept hiding from the workers. if they're in a bag or an inclosed stroller im pretty sure they cant yelll at you.

Wow...just found this topic....my baby goes everywhere I go. I live in a small texas town so everyone knows Gizmo here. I have him trained to his travel bag that looks like a duffle, and he is trained to sit down and not make any sounds. He knows when we are going into a place where he has to be zipped in, like walmart and the grocery store. The bank always looks for him and has treats, cvs keeps treats for him, family dollar and dollar general, he can have his head out of the bag in the store. He has even been to the Dennys here. Most people have ni idea he is in the bag when he is zipped in...lol....so I can pretty much take him everywhere I go, especially to the mall, which I rarely go...cause beleive it or not they prefer you have some money to spend when you go there....of all the nerve....lmao

Well, when riding in the car, although he has a car seat, he prefers to sit in my lap, so the duffle carrier I have sits on my lap with him in it. Before we get out of the car, I will say, ''get inside gizmo'' and he sits down so I can zip him in. The way I trained him is this......I would go to a parking lot and proceed to get out of the car, if he does not sit down in the back with it zipped, I leave the bag on the front seat, crack the window and proceed to walk away from the car. Now mind you, I would only go a few cars down so I am out of site. After a minute or two, I come back and get in the car putting the bag back on my lap. I wait a few minutes and repeat the process, I say get inside gizmo, and again he would not let me zip the bag. It took about four times for him to get the idea, that if you do not sit down and let me zip you in, then you cannot go with mommy. He finally got it. Once inside, he would stir and act if he were going to bark, I would give him a stern look, if he barked, I would leave my shopping cart and leave the store immediately, putting him back in the car. Wait a few minutes and repeat the process then return to the store with him sitting quietly in the bag zipped in. It took about a week of this before it was perfected now it is routine for us. He is four years old and 10 pounds and I taught him this in the first year.

I do not go inside but Chick-Fil-A has treats for the dogs when you go through the drive through. They are the chicken carver ones too.

I am going to start taking mine to more places. I know that I shop at BJ's Wholesale and they have a sign on the doors that say no pets.
