What a kind thing to do, taking care of Major. Those poor children must live a horrible life. |
I'm sure it's nothing that anybody who loves animals would have done. I didn't know it was going to get so involved though. I was just outside fixing my collapsing inflatable Christmas tree and I saw Karen again walking Major. It's really funny because I never saw her around here and all of a sudden I'm seeing her all day. So I invited her in for coffee and Major played in the backyard with my babies. Now you want to hear sad. Karen told me her husband was killed in Iraq last year and her daughter died of Lukemia two years ago. Major is all she has and she would be lost without him. I told her all about YT and how wonderful you people are. She saiid she was thinking about doing a rescue after the holdiays. She wanted to know how hard it was to take care of a Yorkie because she loves Zach. Major loves to play with my dogs and Karen is going to come over often so Major can play in my yard. So I made a new friend and Major made some new friends. I hope Karen gets to rescue a dog because she would make a good mom to a homeless pet, and I hope she joins YT so she can see how great you people really are. |
YOU'RE A HERO! THANK GOODNESS YOU HEARD THE DOGGY CRYING!!!!!!! WOW!!!!! I am a teacher and have seen some crazy things with parents and when I hear or witness a case like this with unfit parents who are DRUNK in the middle of the DAY and it makes a certain type of anger come out of me which is UGLY!!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!:mad::mad: Thank goodness for you! You're AWESOME!!! Snick & Viv |
What a sad story. I'm so glad that Major is going to be OK. What a horrible life those kid's have, I hope all wo5rks for the kid's and they able to be placed where they have love. Karen sounds a wonderful lady. I'm happy to hear she will be bringing Major by to play with your Yorkies. |
Lexi, Not only did you do a good deed for the dog, but you could have very well intervened and prevented a tragedy with the children, too. Kudos to you for stepping up to the plate. Too many people would look the other way. |
Bless you for stepping in and helping this poor dog. |
God Bless You!!!. A dog was save from a beating by a child that should have been supervised. SO KUDOS to you!! I also glad that they children have been taken out of a bad situation and hopefully will be put in better care then what they have had with their own parents. So it is always fun to make a new friend and I'm sure that Karen feels the same. It is hard to loose a love one and also a child. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year to a HERO who was willing to help a dog in need. |
3 Attachment(s) I just want to wish all my friends at YT a merry Christmas and a very happy New Year. From Anita, and the gang Chloe, Zoe, Zach and Cleo. They are all glad I found YT you have made our lives better. I learned so much from this forum and I hope one day to do a rescue. |
Wow, you never know what one action will lead to. In this case it is a great outcome! Kudos to you for stepping in and taking action. You made new friends and the kids will get the help they new hopefully. It is very sad about what has gone on with Karen. Hopefully the holiday season will bring her some joy and she will be able to find a rescue if she decides if she is ready for one. Hugs to you. :) |
I love your snow pics. So cute! I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!:) |
WOW. Such a sad story. :( I am so glad that Major is okay and that you were able to save him, just imagine what could have happend if you didnt hear him yelp. :( I hope the boy is now in the care of responsible adults who can help him, because his own parents were doing nothing to care for him by the sounds of it. It could have been a lot worse. If he thinks its okay to beat animals then what about young children? thinking of what COULD have happend is scary. |
Thank goodness you were there to help that poor doggie:cry: I can't imagine what would have become of him (or those poor kids!) if you weren't there! BIG HUGS to you and your gang:love: I'm sure that you'll be a blessing to Karen too, she's lost way more than one person should ever have to:( I bet you two will be very good friends now:D Prayers going up for those poor kids, especially the 13 yo boy that had the dog, he needs extra for the challenges he faces. Parents like that make me so sick! You\'re a HERO:thumbup: |
Wow! What a story.... Kudos to you for all you did... and the PD for coming back to update you... and please tell Karen that she doesn\'t have to own a Yorkie to be a member here... |
:clapsmileHats off to you for doing such a wonderful thing today. A bad situation presented itself, your quick thinking saved not only a helpless dog but likely innocent children too. All of which deserves so much more. THANK YOU! Take comfort and be proud of yourself and your actions. Wishing you and your family a very wonderful Christmas and New Year. |
