I did the same thing when I had to let mine go, I just had so much love to give to a new little furball. Hugs to you and your family. What love you showed your boy! I'm so sorry for your loss. I want to commend you on listening to him. I had to put my beloved cat down early this year. I had her for 16 years (I am not a cat person either, very allergic, but I loved her!). She had been with me longer than anyone. Saying goodbye to an old friend is so hard. I felt like you...I looked in her eyes and knew the time had come.

I am so sorry Bill for the lost of your beloved Bently. We too just lost our baby girl of only 6 months. Her name was Elsie Mae. Our vet said that her heart just quit. We still have Harley, Chloe, and Chelcey. Christmas Eve we are getting our new little girl. She will not replace Elsie, as a new pup will not replace Bently, but these precious little babies will help to heal our hearts. Good luck and God Bless! You all are in my prayers.

I know it is hard for all of us to do that because we love them so much and don't want them to go. They are not gone though! They are always in our heart! Can't wait to see pictures of your new baby. My heart goes out to you & your wife. I've been there before, and it is one of the most painful decisions we have to make, but, it is also the kindest things we can do for our beloved babies.

One of my girls, Sydney, is almost 15, and she is in chronic renal failure, so my husband & I, feel your pain.

We will both be thinking of you and your wife, today, as you allow Bentley to Cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Totally agree , I had to make that decision about my beloved best friend Jessie, my 14 year old border collie. It hurt so bad and stll does but in my heart I knew it was the right thing to do. God bless xx

Bill, I am so sorry for your loss. Having been through this situation myself with one of my own several years ago, I know how difficult it can be. However, I think sometimes our babies are in pain but are holding on for us until we're ready to let go. It is a horrible decision to have to make but also a personal one that can only be decided by each individual. Know that the pain will get easier with time.

I too have not had to make the decision yet. I have a cattle dog along with my yorkie. My cattle dog, I'm looking at having to make it. If possiable see if the vet will make a house call. My vet has already told me that he would come to the house. It will cost more, but I know my CD. She would rather pass here at home than in the vets office. She never liked going there.

We also lost our beloved baby, Prince, to collapsing trachea. It is a horrible, horrible disease. We didn't want Prince to suffer any more, and nothing else could be done to help him. We would have done anything and paid any amount.
Bentley is at the Rainbow Bridge with a lot of friends and is breathing easily.

So proud of you! No one can understand the realization of the pain and torment of making a quality of life decision for a beloved. It's beyond hard to let go and do what is actually best, I'm sure Bentley is very proud of you too! Hope you receive everything you need going through this you've shown the strength, now comes the healing. When it's tome to adopt another, I'm sure Bentley will be watching over you helping you as you go. It took me three years after the loss of (same as you) my precious Gooby before I was ready to move on, I really feel he was there guiding me to finding Scoobers.
