| How do they know? I have 4 dogs that all sleep on my bed. I work Monday thru Friday and set my alarm for 5:15 am. When they hear my alarm go off they all take up positions that make as difficult as they can for me to be able to pick them up and take them out. Some roll over on their backs and go limp while others crawl even futher down under the covers. So I make 4 trips to the back door and put them out one at a time while I get dressed. BUT on Saturday and Sunday they are all up and begging to go outside long before 5:15. I just don't understand how they know the difference and why they want to go out on weekends but on weekdays don't want any part of going outside. Any ideas how they know the difference and why they are so anxious to go out on weekends before the sun has even thought of coming up? |

| I don't know how, but you are right, they know. Mine are the opposite. When my alarm goes off they are up like gang busters. I am not allowed to hit this snooze button, they won't have any part of that. And if I forget to set my alarm, they will get me up right on time. But on weekends they let me sleep in (well, maybe 30 extra minutes, LOL). They go outside and come back in and want back under the covers on cold days. LOL.

they are so smart aren't they? Opi used to freak out jumping to our alarms one at 4:30 then next one at 5:15. Now she just sleeps through them. She doesn't budge. When i get out of bed she just shifts until it's the exact moment she knows to get up to go out. She actually hears me unplug my hot iron & knows my shoes are next & she starts stretching, rolling & jumping all over. On weekends, there's no alarm and the second i move to get out of bed she is jumping all over the place not wanting to wait for mommy to go potty before she gets to go potty!

| I have no idea, but their internal clocks are amazing. My alarm goes off every weekday at 6:30 AM. Levi wakes me up without fail every morning at 6:29 by sitting on my neck and licking my face. I take him out to potty, he eats breakfast, and then passes back out for another hour or so. Sometimes I can coax him to go back to sleep for awhile on the weekends, but he REALLYYYY likes to wake up, potty, and eat at 6:29. Funny little man.

| I'm not a morning person. Lucky for me, my yorkies are not morning dogs. So, Saturdays we all sleep until at least 10.

| Me too. Or at least, I'd like to teach Levi to be a "not morning" dog.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would love to know how Pixie knows to wake me up at 3:30 am every day no matter what. I have tried feeding the later, she still gets wakes me to eat. Just like she knows that 8 pm is dinner time. I really want to know who taught her to tell time! lol I know it's not because she is hungry so her tummy is telling her, because I have tried feeding her a few times at 1 am since I was up and she still woke me at 3:30am.

| During the week, I have to drag my lazybones out of bed. On the weekend, it's usually her rousing me out.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Gawd we are so lucky! Once past the puppy stage, all our dogs will let us sleep in on Sunday, /thank you God of Dogs. Now hubby is the only one to awake to an alarm, but none of the dogs budge, until I get up and out of bed, which usually takes about five minutes cause they all want their morning hugs and kisses. Then they potty first, while I either wait at the dog (with the big dogs) or throw on a blanket to take out Razz man to back yard. then I shower, while coffee is perking, I get about three sips into coffee, before the leashes at the front door are being jiggled and jangled. Despite walking the dogs in the same order every freaking morning, we still have the jostling for position for first out with Mom's. Then they are feed, beards washed, and I reheat my mug and sit down. Hubby is on his second cup of java, and peacefully reading or watching tv news. It's such a hard life for him! My pups know when my breathing changes which signals I'm awakening.

| Buster has his morning routine that does not change whether it is a work day or weekend. Once he know I am getting up, I have been known to hit the sleep button, he goes to the bathroom where I have a pee pad for him and then he trots off to my roomates room and snuggles up with him as he works nights. He leaves him only when he knows his breakfast is ready and then returns to snuggle when I leave for work. I am lucky that my roomate adores Buster so I have a dog sitter while I am at work. It is funny at night around 11pm he decides it is time to go to sleep and he will complain and yawn at me until I/we go to bed. |
