| How tragic! I hope the problem is fixed before any more hearts are broken. |

| My heart breaks for this person losing their buddy over such a careless and dangerous event. It never would have crossed my mind that this could happen on a city street.

| This story just makes me sad and mad that something like this could happen. One of those lurking dangers that one would never have thought of. My heart breaks for this girl and losing her "baby" this way. Makes me want to cry...

| This is so sad, I can't believe how irresponsible some independent contractors could be... if that killed a dog that size, could you imagine if a child touched it... I hope the city pays for their stupidity. I hope that poor woman can find peace, my prayers are with her... Just so sad.

| Happens more often than you think, just doesn't make the news. In the early part of this decade (century ) we fried at least a couple of tourists in Vegas right on Las Vegas Blvd walking over plates in rainy weather. They resolved the problem, but it just shows, you never know. I would be so devastated if it were one of my kids. However, I do know a couple of skin people I'd actually like to go walking with.....

| Very sad! What does the power plate look like? It is right at the base of the street lamps? I would like to know so that I can avoid them. |

YT 3000 Club Member | I read this, and this was horribly tragic on nwcn and the comments that people made made me so mad, how cruel can people be, I hope she goes after seattle. They did not even check it out I heard until 5 days later, it could of been a child as well. |

| Not necessarily. It sometimes covers a junction where all the traffic lights are controlled from. Think sidewalk, standing at the corner, gonna cross, before you step off the curb you look down and notice that the square you are standing on is stamped (indentation type) but otherwise looks/feels like the regular sidewalk. No lights noticeably around you. It's really hard to think to look down all the time. You won't notice a difference under your feet.

| sorry for the double post, I was trying to clarify. the ones around here are under very thin cement plates, the ones in vegas look like this..... it covers telecomm wiring so there would likely be no lights around it. I've seen them on the islands where you walk across multiple lanes.

| I read some of the comments too and had to stop because so many of them where just plain mean. Guess I'll have to pay more attention to where I'm walking.
