Not necessarily. It sometimes covers a junction where all the traffic lights are controlled from. Think sidewalk, standing at the corner, gonna cross, before you step off the curb you look down and notice that the square you are standing on is stamped (indentation type) but otherwise looks/feels like the regular sidewalk. No lights noticeably around you. It's really hard to think to look down all the time. You won't notice a difference under your feet.
