| Bon Voyage! Anyone ever take a cruise with their furbaby? Looking to see if any allow it. Suggestions?

| I work for a cruise line, and the only one that I know of that allows dogs is the Cunard Cruises (Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth) and it's pricey. I want to take Wall-e with me everywhere too, but so far can't find one that will allow them besides Cunard.

| Wow, sounds like this might be something for us to start pushing for!! They need to do just what the airlines are doing now!

| I looked at the ship and its very luxurious, but what I read says something about kennels on the top deck and you have so many hours a day with your dog and then it's returned to the kennels. Doesn't sound like something I would want. A whole bunch of dogs and cats in kennels while everyone else runs around the ship enjoying themselves. Hmmm, not sure that's what I would want. I mean, a couple of hours a day on a huge ship! What about at night...in a kennel! I don't think so...

| yeah, visiting in a kennel 4 times a day does not for my dog a vacation make. To my knowledge, at this time, there is no cruise line that allows you to take your dog along, not in the way that we'd like. There are a few day cruises that allow dogs. The kind that go out for a couple hours and right back. But not regular cruises. With the influx of 'specialty' cruises such as gay, family, singles, cougar, weight loss, etc... I would think that if one could put together a primarily dog owner cruise (and I imagine it would be a premium price for cleaning deposit etc) that with enough participants it could be conceivably done...I'd certainly do it!!

I can't see a cruise line ever opening up to having pets on board that can stay with passengers in their rooms. Dogs gotta go when they've gotta go. Where are they going to do that? I see enough people at the dog park and in my neighborhood that don't pick up after their dogs, the cruise ship would soon become a cruise-sh1t. Even responsible owners can't walk around with paper towels and Nature's Miracle. Poop bags, maybe. And all of those dogs smelling where another has gone and trying to mark over it! I've seen both males and females do that. Now, if you got enough $$$$, you could always go the Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton route. Because of the strict quarantine laws in England (6 months in quarantine for your pooch in order to bring them in), when they were over there they would just park a yacht off of the coast and stay there with her Malteses.

| Interesting. I just think that if they can make these ships so elegant for us, with pools, spas, casinos, etc., they could definitely have dog runs...areas on the ships sides where dogs go poop and pee. You could use cat litter to make the smell go away. I just think if they wanted to, they could. But good point.
