| No rabies tag or i.d. tags worn? I noticed that on most of the avatar pics and pics in general our little babies do not have their tags being worn. I myself have two tags on my puppy. One tag is for the rabies shot and the other is for the county i.d. I sometimes wonder if I really need to have him wear them as I would prefer to have the really cute charms on him instead but my husband says I need to have those tags on him. So do I really? The majority of pics I see here on YT do not have tags being worn rather mostly charms. Do you not have them on your babies on purpose or it's not needed? |

| You know what, that's a good question. I don't even have a rabies tag from this year that he was vaccinated. He wears an id tag with his name in katakana, and my phone number and he wears that one ALL THE TIME! I don't have him registered with the county, or anything like that. I don't know if I need to.

| This is somthing that I really struggle with. I don't have tags on mine, and I know I should. I am old school and grew up on a farm, and I have seen so many accidents with trained animals that have collars or halters on that I have just become so scared to do so. Every time I try to get Mylee accustomed to one, she literally panics, and I find her with it stuck in her mouth or a paw through it. She literally chewed through her brand new silk harness. So, for now, I don't take the chance that she'll hurt herself, but I admit I do struggle with mylsef not having them on.

| My two are always wearing their tags unless they are taking a bath. They have a collar on at all times except occasionally I have taken their collars off at night to give them a little break. They both have their rabies and id tags on their collars. I do not want to risk the possibility of losing them because they were not wearing their tags. It's just not worth it to me. They are also microchipped. I want to know that I am doing everything to get them back to me if they are ever lost or stolen.

| My boys both wear ID tags and rabies tags. I've never even thought about it but don't see why they wouldn't wear them. I think they are more important than cutesy charms. I could not live with myself if one of them got lost and had no tags.

| No, I have not yet, but I am putting them on my list right now. I always enjoy these treads because I makes me want to try again. Because of my fears, I am sure I have them too loose. She has just been the most challenging dog I have ever had. (but I love her to pieces!)

| Chewie wears name/phone # tag, rabies tag, and city license on a cat breakaway collar (and a jingle bell! I like to know where he is and what he's up to!) Goes on first thing in the morning and comes off last thing at night.

| If your dog can get its mouth under the collar it is probably too big. Mine feel naked without their collars. After a bath they want their collars back on. They are also microchipped. If lost they can be reunited just with a rabies tag, as county keeps owner information cross referenced with the tag number. But if they get out of county/state, and no one bothers to scan the chip, the ID tag is going to be the only way to identify them.

| All of mine wear their's all of the time. I did take them off when I had the group picture taken. But put them back on when I left. All of my regular pictures you can see them on them. I have regular collar's with their tags on them then they ware harnesses to walk. When going in the car they wear harness/dresses in there car seats.

No Longer a Member | When we go out Rizzo has his collar on with rabies/registration tag on him, otherwise no. The tags they give out here are massive, and they annoy Rizzo, so unless we're out and about I don't see a need to wear them. My house has steel doors that cover the interior doors, plus my gate is over 6ft high and also steel...plus he doesn't try to dash away from me, he likes to keep me within eye shot of him as I'm his big tough back-up in case the situation with the cats or chickens get sticky Plus he re-call does get better and better every day, he doesn't like to come when I'm standing next to someone he doesn't know, he'll stop and stare at me, sometimes even walk slowly to me, but when strangers are around he is wary of everything. We're working on that, but he's just a shy boy. |

| I get my dog vaccinated but haven't licensed them since I moved-which is illegal-I'm breaking the law...most owners of small dogs that are indoor pets are too. We're being naughty check with your county or city. If licensing is required the tags are required to be worn, in almost every county, city in the country-we all get a time out for breaking the rules. Some of us might not even do vaccinations as many pure bred enthusiast don't believe in them...I don't want to start that debate on here though other than to mention it. **However, I have all of my dogs microchipped-and the microchip company keeps the updated information from my vet- so if my dogs are found and scanned if lost they can see that my vet and I are the contacts and that my dogs have current vaccinations. **The ID tags I have on my dogs are attached to their harnesses-I don't like collars-I wouldn't wear one why should my dogs-anyways the tags are attached to the harness where the leash clips onto and my tags state my dog's name and the word MICROCHIPPED on one side and my name and phone number on the other side. I was told by someone that there was a story of someone stealing a dog and when they saw on the collar the word microchipped they returned the dog knowing that a microchip cannot be removed and that the real owner would be listed-not sure if its true or would really be a detourant but seems like a good idea to me... |

Not trying to change your mind, just giving a different point of view. By the way, I'm big on wearing necklaces, which is what I consider Kaji's collar to be.

| Cody's tags are on his harness which he wears anytime he is outside; also he is microchipped. I used to have his tags on a collar which he wore all the time but I heard about a dog getting his collar hung in a crate. So Cody's tags are on his harness and he doesn't wear a collar anymore. |
