| ![]() At this moment I have 5 Yorkies (2 "regulars" and now the litter of 3). We are keeping one of the pups and are offering two of the pups for sale. So when the two are sold we'll be a family of 3 Yorkies (though of the two for sale I've grown quite attached to one of them and suggested to hubby we keep that one (too)...he just gave me that look that suggested to me I put off the idea of a 4th Yorkie for awhile!!! - I think he means "quite awhile" !) ![]() We have two Siamese cats, 14 large Koi & goldfish (outside pond). So we're an animal family. Kendra |

I'm done at three though, one of my dogs is a rescue dog with special emotional and social needs, my yorkie has medical issues and my mini schnauzer is well a schnauzer and anyone who has one knows how they are-stubborn, everything with a schnauzi is MINE! and oh!! the schnauzi stare glare I do have to say I'm at my limit with three (especially with the special needs here) but I wonder about people who have in excess of 5 dogs what their intention is-expressiveness-more power to you if you can create a loving healthy home for so many furbabies HOWEVER, how can one provide enough individual one on one attention when you have several many dogs? Every dog needs a buddy I think it's kind of sad for dogs who are the only dog is a family, but is it not sad for dogs being one of a large pack too? I'd like to hear from people who have many dogs-how do you handle training, attention etc with so many, and honestly are they all having their needs fully met? I"m not bashing genuinely curious...I'd love to have 15-20 dogs but in reality I'm at my realistic limit at three...although if my significant other would go for it maybe four ![]() | |

My bf and I were just discussing this last night!! He was saying that if we have more than two, it's hard to give them all their needs. However, I'm still getting a puppy when I graduate...I can't wait...since it's 2 years from now. I'd also like to hear other YT members' experience with over 3 dogs. ![]() Too bad I'm super allergic to cats, otherwise, uh-oh!! Unfortunately, I live with my bf so I can't get more dogs than he approves. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() We have 4 dogs 15 cats 12 birds and 2 guinea pigs. I've been called crazy by alot of people but who cares. I love all my pets and I wouldn't trade any of them for all the tea in China. So if that makes me crazy I'm happily crazy. |

| ![]() I've been called crazy a lot. I always say if I won a lot of money from the lottery I would build a huge dog refuge for dogs needing homes. I don't think I'm crazy I just like animals better then humans.

| ![]() My family are not dog people at all. I have only two and they think I'm crazy. "You need another dog like you need a hole in the head". Heard that one?

| ![]() I throughly enjoyed reading this post. It is refreshing to know that I am not the only person that people call crazy. I currently only have 1, my 6yr old yellow lab. Patiently waiting til I am able to bring my new Yorkie baby home the end of December. I know its going to be a lot of work. I am 32, single, own my home and work very hard for everything that I have. Family and friends all think that I am crazy but I know that I provide a safe, loving, nurturing, healthy home. I am gone sometimes for 8-12 hours at a time. Ideal for a Yorkie puppy or any puppy for that? No, but I do have friends that support me are willing to come to my house when I have to be gone. I am now serving as our local humane society President along with another organization that I volunteer for. I know what it takes to provide for my pets and help educate in our community. So I guess with that said, I say CHEERS to all of us crazy people. My pets are my world and I wouldn't change that for anything. |

| ![]() My DH was one of 13 skinkids. I'm pretty sure his parents loved them all equally. People who have quintuplets probably don't have a huge difference in how they love each individual child, nor do parents who have 2, 3 or 4 kids. Same with furkids. I have six dogs, large mix rescue, 1 maltipoo rehome, 4 yorkies 2 rescues, 2 breeder purebreds and 2 cats rescues. I've fallen asleep in the recliner with the 80lb dog curled up beside me and the other five scattered all over me between my feet and neck in various places. Everybody gets attention and love. I love each the same but differently for the different quality that each brings to the table. Just as you do your skin children. Love just happens and each one brings its own place to your heart.

I also think it's great that you're considering fostering in the future. We really want to get involved in that, but need to get a house first (we currently live in a condo). There are so many dogs out there who really need help. I am especially interested in maybe adopting older dogs who have trouble finding homes.
