| Allergies Hello, everyone thanks for answering my questions regarding allergies. We have all the kids on a diet of Bison & Salmon, with my own special mix of browned bison, with mixed vegies, Flaxseed and Omega 3 oils, but the bottom line is even with all the eliminating of foods, dishes etc. Sophie is still scratching. We had her retested early last month and the tests came back positive for so many things, birch, aspen, on and on - that we are going to start allergy injections tomorrow. We are keeping our fingers crossed. The doctor prescribed something for the itching until we could get this started, can't wait to get her off of the anti-itch meds. They seem to make her more aggressive, but maybe it is just because she is starting to feel better, not itching so much and sleeping through the night, of course her 6 month old half sister(who is all terrier with a capital T) might have something to do with it also. |

| I have a Sophie who also has to have allergy shots. The vet doesn't think she will need them when cold weather comes but we are still waiting. The shots work wonders. Good luck and lets us know how she does. |

| My Lexi has allergies to she hasn't started shots yet. My vet wants to wait til after winter to do her skin test. Right now she is just on Benadryl and that seems to be working a bit. I can't wait to have her test done. Did you do the blood test or the skin test?

| Blood test, her test results were in the thousands for things like Russian Thistle, Shadscale, Pigweed(Rough), Alder, Birch-White, Box Elder, Ash-White, Willow-Black, & Fugni the test numbers are unbelieveable. We first tested Sophie in late spring and the only result we got was dust mites. She has been itching year round. We live in South Lake Tahoe, elevation 6500 ft we are hoping to see a down swing in symptoms over the cold winter months, but I'm not going to hold my breath. She had her first injection yesterday, the next will be on Wednesday ( I get to do this one) I decided to have the first few done at the vet's just in case she has an allergy reaction, breathing etc. This is probably more info than you needed, but hopefully it was helpful. |
