We had her retested early last month and the tests came back positive for so many things, birch, aspen, on and on - that we are going to start allergy injections tomorrow. We are keeping our fingers crossed. The doctor prescribed something for the itching until we could get this started, can't wait to get her off of the anti-itch meds. They seem to make her more aggressive, but maybe it is just because she is starting to feel better, not itching so much and sleeping through the night, of course her 6 month old half sister(who is all terrier with a capital T) might have something to do with it also.
My poodle is nearly 17 years old and I have had her treated for allergies for at least thirteen or fourteen years. She is allergic to nearly everything. She digs huge hunks of hair out until she is nearly naked. i took her back to the vet last week. he gives her a shot in the office when she is bad and antibotics and itch pills (Melderol). Her scratching always eases some but never totally leaves. He has never suggested injections to me. maybe this is something I need to find out about.
