| I Locked Pita in the car!! Our parking lot at work is flooded so we are all parking in the street, I didn't want to take Pita out on the driver's side of the car because of traffic and I threw everything including my keys into a bag on the passenger side, walked around the truck and the door had automatically locked! I'm in Florida and it's not real hot but it's hot enuf... I also had her leash and collar on her cuz we were getting ready to get out of the car!!! I was so scared she'd try to jump into the back seat and get hung up! I came into the office and called my daughter who was nearby and she ran home for me to get the spare keys, but that took about a 1/2 hour. It was so nerve wracking! I was so relieved when we got her out of there! She was ok, she didn't even think anything was wrong. She was just waiting very patiently for me to come get her! WHY oh WHY don't I have Onstar??(because my truck isn't equipped) I am still shaking tho! If she would've been hurt I would be devastated! I'm so stupid!! Never again will I get out without my keys! My hubby is out of town, I'm so lucky he left his keys home! Or it would've been a complete disaster! |

| I hope you have a better day. I think you and Pita should take the rest of the day off due to emotional truma. Glad everything turned out OK.

| You're not stupid! It's just one of those things that happen with the locks on cars these days. She is OK and that's all that matters isn't it?

| This last weekend I locked Zoe in a building where I was having a rummage sale...3 times...the door locks behind you and of course with my hands full with puppies I would put the keys down right away and then go back to my car to get more stuff and yep..couldn't get back in...I was a nervous wreck over that I can just imagine what was going through your mind with Pita locked in the car...hope your day goes better.... |

| Thanks everyone, it is a very weird day here! I just got a call that the police had roped off one of our rental houses and wouldn't let anyone go in.. I guess one of the tenants was cleaning his gun and he "accidentally" shot himself in the leg. That's his story and he's stickin to it! My hubby, who's traveling thro Georgia just got a speeding ticket! It's just nuts here today! I want to go hide in my bed!! |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I did the same thing to a lab in the winter, with the heater on full blast. You feel so helpless. I called a locksmith.

| I was just thinking about some past antics of mine and I remember mine locking herself in one time! I was lucky that time, though, because I had the keys. I was sooooo glad, because I was 60 miles from home!

| I know what you are feeling I locked the keys in my truck last winter at minus 20 celius. I called AMA right away and they wher there inside 10 mintues as it was so cold. She handled it way better then I did. I am glad Pita is ok and things happen and all is well that ends well. Give her a hug and give yourself a break, you where thinking of her safety when it happened by taking her out the other door. Joy |
