Glad to hear that everything went well. I know its very nerve wracking when they go under anesthesia - especially after everything you read around here.

My little sadie had to have 14 extractions at her last cleaning. When i got her at the age of 3 her mouth was in horrible shape and most of her teeth were loose. SHe only has her bottom 2 canines left. Has anyone else had this problem with a 5 year old?

Oh, my! No! Never. Whoever had her before you must not have ever had her teeth cleaned or taken care of them at all. Bless her lil heart!

She wasn't taken care of all around. You couldn't imagine the fleas i removed on her tiny 3lb body. She was physically abused and has absolutely no play drive. Thay were feeding her a cheap generic large breed kibble called Doge Gone Deli.

Now she's as spoiled as it gets.

Hey Brit, when we discussed with our vet, she didn't recommend yearly dental cleanings until they were at least 3 years of age.

Now all of ours get them yearly, but they are all older than 6!

except for Zander who has no teeth at all.....funny that the cat hasn't figured that out yet....he chases her like nobodies business and when he stops,....she goes and seeks him out for another romp!
