Hey Brit, when we discussed with our vet, she didn't recommend yearly dental cleanings until they were at least 3 years of age.

Now all of ours get them yearly, but they are all older than 6! except for Zander who has no teeth at all.....funny that the cat hasn't figured that out yet....he chases her like nobodies business and when he stops,....she goes and seeks him out for another romp!
