yeah that definitely would cut down on the matting. I have a few clients who request that I "tunnel out" the underside of their dogs to help with the matting, and it helps keep the larger hairy dogs cooler in the summer. I basically shave from hoochie/testical area, down the inside of each thigh, and straight up to the chest just behind the front legs. Then i scoop out the pits and shave down to the elbow. All is hidden by the coat on the body and no body sees the shaved belly underneath.
Breny you have to be one of the only people i know that shave a "belly band" band. hahaha And you don't just trim it down, you shaved it down to the skin. You should get a poodle so you can do more different style clips on.
