| How Much Does Your Dog Weigh Just curious since my Vet told me today that Maxwell "weighs 8.2 lbs". I think I have a fat boy, but it's my fault for giving him so many treats. Maybe he's eating a lot lately....and with my "add-ins" is probably why, you think~? |

| You have to look at the yorkies body structure, height and length etc. My guys weight 4lbs and 3lbs.

| Levi weighs 5.5 pounds which is the perfect weight for his body size. Did your vet tell you the 8.2 pounds was too much? Some Yorkies just have larger body structure.

| I have a 7 lber and a 3 lber and definitely prefer the larger size of my boy. He is much less fragile and can do more without mom freaking out.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 2 that are overweight Pixie is 4 lb 12 oz and should be no more than 4 lbs. Roxie is just under 6 lbs and should be closer to 5 1/2 lbs. Cali is just right at 5 lb 3 oz and Nikki my old guy is underweight at 5.3 lbs. Due to his age he doesn't seem to gain any weight. I have been trying to get Pixie and Roxie to lose a little weight by limiting treats and putting them on a lower fat food but they are not losing any weight. I need to step up their exercise.

| The Vet told me, "he's fine and the right size". I mentioned "show dogs are less in weight" and she told me "those folks dogs are skinny"...something like that. I do excerise him, plus he has a yard to run around in too. There are days he doesn't want to walk in our neighborhood. But when I drive him to another neighborhood or park, he's so excited to walk there. |

| It all depends on the body structure of the dogs. My 7 lber is just a stockier dog than my 4 lber. The standard is 4-7, so ideally they are just overall smaller dogs than your 8 lber. I wouldn't worry to much if your vet says he's healthy

| Since he's been neutered this past year, he put on some weight as well as expanded in his hips it seems. I mentioned that to the Vet way back when and she told me to cut down on his treats. It hasn't helped really. He does agility once a week, so he gets his real running in then. |

There are plenty of larger Yorkies out there larger than the standard - like Brit mentioned, her Jackson is 15 pounds but definitely healthy and the right weight for his larger frame.

| Preston is 16lbs, very stocky and muscular, while Paisley is almost as tall, but her body length is shorter, and we joke that without hair she would look like a stick dog. She weighs right at 6 lbs. My mother in laws dog Bella is about half as tall as Paisley, half her length, but weighs right under 6 lbs. She has the muscular stocky build that Preston has, only on a smaller scale. LOL I think it is all in the build of the dog.

| Toby weighed 8 lbs when we got him December and he was 3 1/2 years old. About two months ago he weighed 11 lbs and is now on a diet. I am feeding him Natural Balance Low Calorie kibble and he gets NO treats except Himalayan Chews. I didn't think he was fat as he has a long body but when he was diagnosed with LP, he had to immediately go on a diet. He's now down to about 10.3 lbs and getting him down to that weight took a good four weeks. I am working on getting him back to 8 lbs. He used to get special treats after his bath every week (Zuke's). Now he just gets 1-2 carrots. I give him 20 pieces of kibble twice a day and that's it! I have to admit getting the weight off him has helped his LP tremdously and will continue to keep him on NB.
