| ![]() I know that had to be aggravating. But I would not go so far as to say "stupid children." Since grandpa was just as rude, I would say "Poorly-raised children." If something like that happens, you can always use it as a teaching experience. Let them know nicely that this is a living creature just like them and they should not tease or be mean; that if they treat them nicely, pets can be such a joy. They may still be rude, but at least you have planted a seed. Sounds like those kids have not had much sowing of good will towards animals. Easy to say after the fact, I know. My first impulse might not be as nice. ![]()

| ![]() I hate kids who mistreat animals, I also hate their stupid parents who raised them that way. I've always been raised to love animals. If anybody whether it be a kid or an adult mistreated an animal in front of me there wouldn't be too much of them left to talk about. I'll tell you one thing though if that kid had picked up my cat and did that she would have been mauled. My cats don't take s---from anybody. I'll tell you about a great kid though. He is about 13 and the son of a friend of mine. He came to my home one day after one of my birds had laid an egg and he terribly upset when I threw the egg away. He said I was murdering the baby bird. The truth is I had to dispose of the egg because the birds were realated and the chick would have been malformed but he was really hearbroken. |

Yea I was not angry at the kids so much. I work with kids everyday and they get their value from their parents and other adult influences. I was soooo mad at the grandad! The kids were standing where Robbo was and were with the kids so they were a bit further away it was more for the grandfathers good I said it to show him how insulting it was when something flippant was said to someone. To be fair I am sure the granddad did not mean it as it sounded it was probably a fly away comment. But the tone he said it showed that I doubt he had ever been a dog owner. Robbo on the other hand normally loves kids and playing with them but not with these ones. I take him into my classes often, I teach dance, where there are between 20-30 kids and he loves the attention but we sit on the floor and he toddles around them all and they know to let him sniff their hands and wait to be petted. I am only 24 and would like kids in the future, plus I have 4 nieces and nephews, from baby to 10, so I am very careful to make sure he is used to children of all ages which is possible due to my profession as I take him from my nursery classes to my 70plus seated movement class lol! Anyways sorry to ramble! Have a good night! | |
