Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | She may just be distracted when out on a walk. Try and take her to a quiet area, like a feild or a wood if you have one near by. Also carry treats with you and when she does go give her a treat.

| Tululah Thank you Rachel, but we have tried this and she still picks her spot on the balcony, no matter where we take her, or how long she is out. |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Hmm.. Im not sure, Ive never really heard of this behaviour before. But I posted a thread not long ago because my pup would pee in the garden but would only poop on her pad indoors, another member suggested that they are in a vunerable position when going potty and maybe she dosnt feel confident enough to go poop in the garden yet. Maybe its the same with Tululah, she may feel the balcony is her 'safe place' ... as she grows im sure she will become more confident and begin to potty when out on walks. By the way welcome to YT!

| Have you had her since she was a puppy? Have you been taking her for walks since she was a puppy? If the answer to both questions is yes, then I wonder if the grass is too tall where you are taking her. Other than that, I can't think of any reason for it. Usually, when you've taken them since they were puppies, then they are used to it and will relieve themselves on a walk.

| Tululah Hi Yes we have had her from 12 weeks old, and she is walked 4 times a day for about an hour, she never does anything outside, and once she comes in she heads straight for the balcony and does the lot. She does seem to want to be private when she goes, as the odd time she does go outside, she heads into the grass where no one can see her, strange behaviour or what!! |
