Yorkie Yakker | Wet weather.. wet feet.. Hey there fellow YTers..Just wanted thoughts on this..We live in a very wet state. Lots of rain. I have been working with my little girl Etta outside walking on the leash..I had posted a few days ago asking for some pointers and you guys came through giving some very good advice! Her leash training is actually coming along. I'm very proud of her! I have actually had my breath taken away a couple of times as I saw her strutting beside me her coat taking on that ''flowing" look I adore in the Yorkie breed itself...and to see my own baby with that flow...well you guys know what I mean...Anyway didn't mean to get sidetracked but the question I have is what, if anything, do you guys do about there little feet soaking up the water on the ground. We currently live in an apartment and when I took her out today just walking around the parking lot and complex she came back soaked! Her legs under her belly and her little chin were soaked! Although she didn't seem to mind! I keep her feet trimmed but I am not sure what, if anything, I can do about this. I need to keep working her but I don't want her soaked three or four times a day..If its pouring of course we would not be able to go out..I know there are Booties out there. What do you guys think of them? Anyway this could be a very long winter...lol!! As always Thanks you guys...your great!!! |

| I don't know anything about the booties because we haven't used them but when we first moved into our house it was still a teeny bit cold and Bandit hated the hard wood floor-he was used to the completely carpeted apartment, so we got him socks with grippies on them... he couldn't stand them and would go crazy taking them off. It's a good idea in the cold snowy months especially because of the salt. In the meantime, you might want to just leave a towel by the door. Good luck bootie searching |

| For boots, try the Pawz dog boots. They're lighter than the others. I don't know if you can find one around anymore. I have AKC brand raincoat that covers the the tummy and has legs. It also has a detachable hood. I love it when it's messy out, because it keeps her legs and tummy dry. It's all one-piece except for the hood and attaches with velcro down the back. So, you might want to look for something like that. Mine was a gift and I am so thankful for that thing since mine loves, loves, loves to walk no matter the weather!

| This is YT Member AllDogBoots' website: Dog Boots, Dog Shoes and Dog Booties from alldogboots.com She's very helpful and has all kinds of footware for our pups... I, too, have a full body AKC Rainsuit for my boy... really helps with keeping his legs dry...
