I think the strangest thing I do, though, is when we leave the house. I assign all the dogs duties: "Eddie, you're in charge. Meanwhile, Kelly's winking at our budgee and telling him he's in charge.
that is funny Mike.!
I am always greeted last too. I'd like to think it is because I am not at his feet begging for it..lol

This thread stirs some beautiful memories for me. The first time I begged to get a Yorkie my husband was not at all enthusiastic. He said, why would we want one of those yipping things. I persisted and as usual, he said okay if it was that important to me, but warned he wanted no part of a dog "like that." It was not a full 24 hours and it was clear she was his dog!

After much shopping for a second, I found one I was in love with and took him to see the little guy. This was our first yorkie puppy as the first girl was full grown. He walked in took one look and handed his wallet to the breeder saying, "take what you want -- this little guy's is coming home with us." The lady almost did take his wallet too! LOL! We brought him home and once again, the pup was his first.

Lost my dear husband 2 years ago. The dogs mourned along with me. But he gave them all a lot of love and attention over the years and never regretted letting me get one of those "yipping things." I cqn still see him kicked back in his big reclining chaise with all of the dogs nestled around him.

This is a good thread. Thanks for sharing. I know it touched your heart to see your husband show love and compassion for your pets, just like it does me.

We just walked in from lunch. Alex (boyfriend) is putting our leftovers in the fridge, and I am walking back to the bedroom to let Levi out. As I reach the bedroom door, Alex screams "Don't open the door! I want Levi to say hi to me first!!" And he was completely serious

I'm beginning to think he only likes me for my dog.

One of the cutest things my husband does is to scoop up Neo, kiss him on top of the head like hes a little boy and say, "Do you love Dada? --Dada loves his little boy". Then he'll pick up Connor and lay him in his arms like a baby and kiss on him and tell him what a pretty boy his is. Sometimes I think I need to keep the camera with me at all times to catch moments like this.

My husband was actually the one that wanted a yorkie... I wanted anything BUT a yorkie. It was coming up to his 22nd birthday and I asked him what he wanted. He said he wanted a dog. Because of our living situation, I reminded him we couldn't get a big dog because I know his favorite breed is German Sheppard. He said he knew that so I asked him if he was thinking of a particular breed. I expected him to say something like a beagle, cocker spaniel, or something like that and without hesitation he said he wanted a yorkie. My exact response was, "You want a WHAT?!" When looking through ads and different things, I tried to overlook yorkies to other breeds just as small. I don't know why, but I wanted just about anything else but a yorkie. We got a Chip about a month after starting the search and I was instantly in love. 6 months later we brought home Smokey because I wanted him. It's been almost 4 years since we brought Chip home and I wouldn't trade either of them for any other big dog in the world!

Men are the softest with Yorkies. Jimmy will hold Khloe, and all his L's sound like W's. He'll say "Khloe, do you need me to rub your wittle paws and back? I bet your wittle paws are tired."

And when she's hyper while greeting him, he'll say "You're Coo-coo for Cocoa Poofs" (I have no idea why).

I love the fact that men are so affectionate for their little dogs. It's so sweet. If I were single, I would actually find a man who had a small dog very attractive. JMO.

This is another thing I had to share...when Cooper had pancreatitis back in the summer, we had an 8am vet visit. We had to take 2 separate cars, because I had errands after.

Anyway, when I get home I notice Hubby had picked up some Diet Cokes and things we needed, along with the baby food we were giving Cooper in small amts. I went off on him and told him I KNOW YOU DID NOT LEAVE HIM IN THE TRUCK IN THIS HEAT!

He looked at me like I was crazy, and he said I just put him in the buggy, whats the big deal, I do it all the time! OMG! He goes to this little country grocery store out here by the house, I never use it, since I am used to finding things at the bigger one.

I guess no one would dare tell my 300 lb hubby to get out of the store with his little dog! We went in there a few days later, he had to proove it to me, all the little cashiers were coming up and loving on Cooper, asking him how he felt!!!

Finally the weather has improved so we spent the weekend outside in the garden, so did the neighbour, George can't see him only hear him so everytime he got near the fence George would bark like crazy, anyway enough noise and hubby was getting a bit annoyed with it too, so I got the water pistol out, next time George barked I shot him with water (warm water of course) and what does George do runs around the garage and hides by Daddy, Hubby says "Oh darling has that mean Mummy been shooting you" he was the one doing most of the complaining, Sunday morning we went to the boot sale and took George with us, who promptly spent the whole time in Daddy's arms being carried around and kissed and petted, 4 am this morning George needed to go out side and promptly runs back upstairs and snuggles in with Daddy, that's it next time he can use the water pistol, I so hate being on the out

Here's a few pictures of my hubby enjoying our dogs. I think it's very nice to see men interact with animals and especially small dogs. I was very blessed to find a man that loves animals as much as I do. Hubby and I are like day and night when it comes to a lot of things, but our love for animals is one thing we have in common.

I am not married or have a BF. However, I do know that men have been at my door and adore my yorkie and little shih Tzu, it is a major turn on. omg, when it happens I think to myself that this is excatly how I want it to be ! There is nothing more attractive to me then the way a man treats his dogs, especially our little yorkie's..

Lately Skeeter has been sitting at the corner of the couch staring at DH who is sitting in the recliner. Eventually he tires and barks at DH. Dh then responds with "I'm not having pizza tonight fat boy." Skeeter continues to stare and occasionally bark until DH gives up and puts a single serving size pizza in the microwave. Skeeter then gets to lick the sauce from Dh's hand.

The man actually OBEYS a dog!

He also nags me to play ball with Adie. She has a schedule for it. He plays around 8am then again around 2pm. I have the after dinner game. If I don't do it Dh gets mad at me!!!! Funnier yet is that he will tell her to go tell Mommy it's time to play and she will come and find me!
