What to do during a cold winter?

Hot Rod gets cold easily so I usually have a tank top or t shirt on him. Maggie likes it a bit cooler. At night I make sure they have small flannel blankies in their pen should they want to snuggle in them. Hot Rod will take a half hour to make his bed just right and sometimes you can only see a fluff of his ear hair. lol

Being from Texas, both of mine are of the thin blooded nature as well. It is funny hearing some people think 60s isn't cool and I have been wearing sweatshirts myself when taking my girls to school in the mornings

Monkey tolerates cooler weather better than Maddie. I like to sit outside when it is cool like this (in the 60s) and have a blanket to cover my legs. He will climb up and nest into the blanket and sit with me for hours. Maddie however insists on being in my arms and then covered up. I think she is looking for more of my body heat!

It does sound more like fear of something rather than being cold enough to shiver at 60 degrees. It wouldn't hurt to put her in jump suits this winter and a jacket over it when you take her out. My foster, Belle (Shi-Tzu/Maltese) has cushings and very thin hair so I had Cathy (107barney) make her a silk jump suit. She even put her name on it. She makes them in different materials as well. Washable and reusable dog and puppy pee pads, belly bands, and diapers at T. Bumpkins & Co. Cathy is a super nice gal and so very easy to work with.

What I like to put on mine in the really cold part of winter is the 4-legged jumpsuits made of fleece. Just a one-piece sweatsuit is what they are. They are comfortable and warm. When it's really cold, a coat goes over them. She looks like a little roly-poly going down the street!

What do you guys think of something like this:

Outlast Dog Beds - Outlast Pet Crate Pads - Heated & Cooled Dog Bed

It uses the dogs body heat to warm the bed instead of being powered up by anything...I was thinking of getting the kennel size one sinc I just leave his kennel open in the kitchen when I'm not at home, figured he could climb in there to warm up if it gets to chilly for him...

That would be much safer. A heat pad would not be safe. Puppies chew, dig, etc. That looks like a good idea.
