| I've had many dogs as well. I have generally preferred to have girls bc of the leg lifting/ marking behavior with males. BUT, that being said, my Brooklyn- yorkie female- is fiercely independent, extra playful and not a cuddler at all. My dearly departed Spike- a pomeranian chihuahua male- only lifted his leg outside and was a snuggle bug. So yeah, it's definitely the individual personality of each dog that matters most. All my pets have been wonderful to me. |

| I only have had two dogs- the two I have now. One boy (possessive yet the biggest cuddler in the WORLD) and one girl (will walk miles and miles, still a crazy little puppy even though she's 1 1/2, full of energy, and mildly cuddly. They each have their perks. I did read if you get two, it's best to get one of each sex. |

| I personally prefer the females. However, my brother has male dogs that are the most sweetest , loving little guys in the world. My yorkie is very hyper , silly and an excellent watchdog. She loves to lick people and play with her shih tzu sister. I am anther one who rather not deal with the penis issues However, the boy dogs I have been around are even more cuddly and babyish then the girls.
