Which are better pets in your opinion. The boys or girls? Want to know what you yorkie owners feel about boys vs girls as pets? Thanks,Leigh |
I have only ever had female dogs so I cant compare. :) |
How could you tell anyway??? Which are better girl children or boy children??? It all depends on their personality. You could get a doscile boy and an active girl or the other way around. I have 2 boys and 2 girl of each, skin kids and yorkies and they are all different |
I have both a male and a female. They are both great,. Would be hard to pick one over the other. |
I agree it's hard to tell I have a boy who's hyper not soo much a cuddle bug unless I'm sick, sad, crying or upset. But BOY does he LOVE to play. I have a girl who is STUCK to me 24/7 if she could go to work with me she would, if she could chase after my car as I drove off she would (good thing she knows better), but she's not really into playing. I have a friend who has a girl who LOVES to play but isn't much of a cuddler. I used to have a little boy who LOVED HIM some cuddles but not much of a play time kind. It all really depends on the luck of the pick. Definitely buy from someone you can go see the pups. Play with them. |
I'm not gonna lie - I love boy dogs. I grew up with females, Jackson is my first male, and then my dad adopted a male from the shelter last year. I also dogsit for 3 males dogs. I prefer them. :) |
In my personal opinion i feel like girls are preferable. I've had both...the leg hiking is what i don't like. All my males have marked, even after neuter so after they passed away i had to replace all my furniture and drapes(all ruined 4 inches up!) Not to say i dislike boys...i don't!! I just don't like to deal with all the penis issues! ALL yorkies are fabulous (IMO) You can't go wrong either way!:) |
I'm biased...I love my little boy Yorkie. He is crazy, playful, and sweet all at once. I had both males and females throughout my childhood, and it is the males I remember most. I had a male miniature poodle until I was in high school who was so smart and so sweet. My little guy doesn't lift his leg...he squats. I think I just got lucky. :) Of course, I wouldn't turn down a girl either. In fact, the little rescue I am currently pining for is a sweet little girl. |
Girls, girls, girls I'm of the opinion that girls generally make better pets. I base this on my own personal experience over the years with cats and dogs (hounds). With Yorkies, however, I couldn't say, because we've only had girls !!! We love our two girls to pieces...they are sweet, playful and very loving. :aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
:) i have had both , :) and i find yorkie girls more loving and loyal , just my opinion from experience , love jill n poppy xx :aimeeyork |
I have a boy who is my shadow and a girl who is fiercely independent. Over the many years I've had (many, many, many) dogs, I have never observed a trend that said one sex is a better pet over the other. It all comes down to the individual dog's personality. |
I've got two boy pets at home, a boy yorkie and a boy cat. The cat is a fierce snuggler, trust me you've never been cuddled until Fatso gets a hold of you :D, and then Rizzo (Yorkie) is much too energetic to even bother with snuggling/cuddling. But then again, he is still a puppy. Both are awesome pets, and I've had female pets in the past that were also awesome. I think it's just up to the personality of the pet and what qualities you are looking for in it. |
I have both and love them both. My little girl is quieter, calmer and my little boy always wants to play. I once heard that the females "love you", but the boys are "in love with you". It has rung true for me. |

I have one of each and love them both. My boy is neutered and does mark so we use a belly band. But he is my cuddler and player, and everything. Maddie just cuddles, no playing as it scares her too much but that has to do with her history before we got her more than her being female! Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |
