| Need to rant.... Well for those of you who know my previous frustrations the last month, you can probably guess what this rant is about. For those who don't... if you don't like bugs, don't read this post. So just got settled in to my new place right, I took every humanly possible precaution to assure that the freakin' buggers didn't come with me (which have been confirmed by an exterminator to be the all American Cockroach). Well the death toll of the little *&@!ers is at 6 in my new place. I sent Harley away to a friends house, and got the exterminator in to bait. Well I know it isn't going to happen over night, but this morning I picked up my bread, and the bag had a bunch of tiny holes in it... I'm FREAKING OUT. Can someone please verify that a cockroach can chew through bags!!!!! Cause my heart just kind of stopped when I saw that, I really REALLY hope there are no other problems in this place... Or I'm gonna wind up in the loonie bin. While on topic, I watched the exterminator bait, and he knew I had Harley, has anyone ever had issues with this baiting process and their dogs? know where every piece of bait is, so I can assure Harley stays away, essentially he can't go in my kitchen for the next 3 months, but that's ok. The livingroom isn't puppy proofed yet anyway. He just has our bedroom and his bedroom (and we only baited above door frames in there). I just want to curl up and have a good cry. I don't understand how the bread bag got holes in it... odd thing, my potatoe bag (sitting next to it) didn't get touched... if it were something bigger or nastier it probably would have munched on that too eh? ARGH! Anyways, Thanks YT... my friends here are all really busy with school, and I have no one to really rant to. This is just making me feel so sick. BTW Great news... I just got another NEW job! that pays ALOT more than my last one and has less hours... so I gave notice to that part time job that was giving me a headache, I start the new one today. I'm so pumped! (I guess we all must look on the positive side when things start to suck eh?)

| So sorry this is continuing. A good, hardy bomb going off would probably do more good. Of course, you'd have to have your food removed. Anyway, I really feel for you! I hope the problem goes away quickly. In the meantime, you'll need to keep foods like your bread in the fridge. Congrats on the new job. It sounds much better! Things have a way of working out.

| Thanks... At this point I think I just need people to talk to, so I don't go insane. We asked about spraying, but I called all the exterminators in the city (about 10-15), and none of them spray, unless it's terribly out of control. Plus they all said it would not be a good thing for Harley. so bait it is. I'm going to the store today to get some containers to put my bread in.... bah... this sucks. But yeah, new job is awesome. I'm working for one of my favourite professors, as a marker, so I take home papers each week and can work whenever I want, within reason... so the next two weeks are going to suck, cause I still have to work at the old job... but oh well. after two weeks, I can finally enjoy my dog, my new place, and have a life again.

| I had that issue about 15 years ago when I purchased a house. It not only had german roaches (lol didnt know I was lucky enough to get foreign oneslol) but also kept hearing skittering in the chimney and the ceilings.. Well had the exterminator come, he went investigating and found that I had fleas, mice, roaches, and raccoons!! Now I had just moved in (well the stuff was not even there yet thank goodness) So he sprayed, baited, trapped, you name it he did it. Death toll in my "new" home was high. Now this was an old farmhouse in the middle of cornfields but when we looked at the place and had it inspected that was not on it nor did we see anything. I just waited till everything was dead for sure before me, hubby, kids and pets moved in. That meant an extra 2 weeks at a hotel and doggy motel. Talk about money!! Well I can tell you that for the first month everything I had for food or purchased was put in the fridge or freezer where those buggers cannot get to. I was taking no chances!! I wish you luck

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | If you brought any cardboard boxes when you moved, they may have had uninvited guests between the layers. I once received a box from Florida which I fortunately unpacked outside. When I took it apart to put in recycling, a few dozen (!) giant cockroaches came scuttling out. Needless to say, my dad had to finish the job. |

| Yeah we didn't move a single thing in cardboard. I even opened all my food boxes, if it was in any way altered it got tossed. We didn't even keep the TV boxes (and we've had them for the last 2 moves). I went out today and bought a bunch more containers, I swear I've become a VIP rubbermaid customer. Ugh... these buggers suck.

| why do i feel like all the bad things are happening to me... Ok so our new place is an old victorian that was converted into condos. (we're renting one of them). So I went into the basement to do my laundry, and frig, I came face to face with a mouse! and not a little ground mole either, he was a big mouse some of Harley's toys were smaller than the mouse! I'm really scared that a mouse did the damage to my bread bag now... but I'm sure it's the cockroaches, but man, it's still freaking me out. I called the landlady, and she's getting traps set down there, IMMEDIATELY cause they haven't seen mice in a long time. UGH. Life sucks.... Ok time to think of positives. My landlady is bringing in an electrician to fix all our ancient plugs (yay). I LOVE my new job.. and working yesterday after giving notice to my old job wasn't too horribly awkward... *sigh* Now I need to go get the BF to finish my laundry, cause there is no way I'm going back down in that basement today. lol.

| Bugs are no fun! I have no advice except what others mentioned above, but I wanted to congratulate you on your new endeavor and send warm wishes your way. Everything will work itself out. It won't feel like a home until the problem is remedied, so I hope everything goes smoothly for you. Have a good week!

| I feel your pain.... I'm glad I'm not the home owner right now... at least as a renter if something horrible goes wrong I'm not too liable for it. We paid for the initial baiting at the new place, because we figured it was highly likely that they came in our stuff. I'm sure that'll make it disapear. But they are horrible aren't they. Hey did you notice if they chewed through plastic bags? After seeing the mouse down stairs i'm starting to worry that I have a mouse too, in my unit. At least if there is a mouse in my unit, I'm not liable for that. I definitely didn't bring that with me. Also did your notice cockroach poop in your cupboards, I've heard that it looks a lot like mice droppings, I've seen a bit in my cupboards, no clue whether it's mice or cockroach poop... YUCK this is such a gross conversation.
