| if people start getting educated and stop buying from her, she will be forced to stop. supply and demand. ... the problem is that most people don't know better. education is key! |

| Wow, that's terrible! I got Jackson from a 'home breeder' or BYB (she had the momma dog, neighbor had daddy dog) but at least she kept them in her home, and they slept by her bed every night!

| Yes she would be a byb. My breeder was a byb and she also kept dogs in cages. She was a nice person and seemed to care for her animals but her main motivator was the money

| Me too, sounded like the makings of it. It's a shame so many people still remain uneducated on what constitutes a good breeder and still remain ignorant regarding buying from Pet shops. I was getting a t-shirt for my friends dog at a pet store in Toronto and they were asking $2400 for a "Teacup Yorkie". Some poor person probably got sucked in by the cuteness of the little munchkin and bought her. What do pet stores do with dogs they can't shift, that's what I'd like to know? |

| Bravo! I think we got Ringo from a BYB. We drove four hours to get him; and she had all the puppies in her house running around (so far, so good, right?). Then she asked if we wanted to see the parents and we said yes. She took us outside to a separate building (very nice but still separate) where the dogs were all housed. I was taken aback; but had driven four hours and had my ten year old son who WAS GOING HOME with a puppy. Ringo is a healthy dog; but looking back, I should not have supported this breeder.
