| Can I eventually leave him home for 6 hours? Rocco is now 10 months and has been potty trained for months, and has half of the house to himself while we're away. Now that the kids are back in school, I am coming home at lunch again to let him out and be with him for about 30-40 minutes. Then my daughter comes home from school about 1.5-2 hours later. My question is should he be ok to leave home for about 6 1/2 hours once he's around a year old? So far he's been wonderful by himself, very few accidents or trouble.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I think he should be ok. I use to work and had to leave mine for 6-8 hours.

| I think so too. But you may want to confine him to a smaller area - at first - just to test him out before you actually give him free reign of the house. |

| Yes, he should be fine for 6 hours, just limit where he can go in the house.

| Cash does the same thing! I restrict him from any garbage bins (i.e. the kitchen) because he loves dumpster diving to spite me! If he is angry at me, he will sulk in the laundry bin for hours. Definitely restrict him and make sure there are loads of fun things for him to keep himself busy with.

| Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease...I just have the "bad mommy" guilt when I leave him even for 3-4 hours. I honestly think he'll be fine, and it will definitely be harder on me than him, since I just LOVE seeing him mid-day!

| My Max is almost 5 months old and he is doing great in his xpen while I'm gone. I leave at 8 and get back after 2. We got him during the summer and were able to be with him most of the day until I was going back to work in Sept. They are so smart and if secure and loved they know you will be back as soon as you can! Dont worry it will be fine!! |

| I have left Zoe home since she's been about 8 weeks old...whenever I have to leave the house for any reason. Dogs adapt to our schedules. I think he will be fine. Just confine him to his area, give him food and water, and his own toys to keep him company.

| Just leave a bunch of food, pee pads, toys water, and a bed and he should be fine. |
