| I lived with Dex in a condo for 2 years before we moved to a house with a backyard. he did really well in the condo and we could get a lot of exercize inside when needed, but i did walk him everyday to get outside too. as long as you are dedicated with walks, yorkies are a perfect appartment dog |

| Thank you everyone that responded. I am so glad to here such great success stories with living with a YT in apartments/condos. Can anyone explain this indoor training? I have only had larger dogs and only did this for puppy training. |

| I also live in a apartment. I have a yorkie and a little shih tzu. My Yorkie barks a lot more then the shih tzu. These little guys can get loud ! Something to take into consideration because some neighbors might not be so tolerant of a yappy little dog. Thankfully their are a lot of apartments in my area that have a pet policy, LOL . I see a lot of people having to move on craigslist and then have to give up their animals . Be sure to make a 100% commitment that if you do have to move you will be sure to do anything to find a pet friendly place . About the pee pad training.. When a little one starts to go , she will go back to the same spot to potty . I laid down several pee pads in the area My girl would go to, and she caught on quickly. Always lay down more then one pad because sometimes a dog does not like to pee and poop on the same potty pad. The pads have a scent on them that makes the dg want to use the pads . If you do see that your dog starts to pee somewhere other then the pad, pick her up and place her on the pee pad. Change the pads regularly. My yorkie will potty outside on the grass now as well as on her pads.
