I completed an application to fostering just minutes ago. Although I won't know right away, but I made the step

Something I have been considering for ALONG TIME NOW, but just felt like my heart wouldn't be strong enough to let them go After much thought and consideration I want to give it try and see if I can't make a difference in just one...then 2..then 3....

I'll let you know how it goes, I'm nervous and excited

That is so exciting! Do you currently have any fur-butts at home? Did you apply to a breed specific rescue or a "whoever needs our love" rescue?

I do have a Yorkie. I did it for Florida Little Dog Rescue they are in need right now so....No Time like the present time
There was a post y-day on here so i looked into all day today..

Fostering is great! I filled out the application yesterday and got an e-mail saying they would be contacting me soon.
I have fostered dachsies, and believe me when you foster it is very hard to let them go. In fact I can only recall one that I didn't end up adopting!

That's great. They are in such need right now. I did first time fostering last December. It was a pom puppy from a puppymill auction rescue. It was a very rewarding experience but it is hard to let them go. You just have to keep telling yourself your preparing them to find their forever home. Keep us posted.

Congrats and good luck to you. I do this when I am called from the animal shelter from time to time. It is hard to say good-bye, but it makes it so much easier when you see that they are going to a good home. It was hard at first; I loved them all and convinced myself that I could keep them all. But I knew deep down that I should do what was best for them and let them go to their new homes. Some of the stories behind them will break your heart, but I learned that you can't use it as a crutch. If they are physically well, I learned to not know partiality to them because of their sad situations; otherwise they ended up running wild and ultimately running my household. It is a very rewarding experience, and I know that it will bring joy to your heart. (:
