| she may even have had a heat already. I have one female who keeps herself so clean that i can hardly notice. My other bleeds more and leaves spots but not much to put a garment on. so i confine her to certain areas of the house then. they do sell garmets that help if she is a heavy bleeder. but most small breeds go hardly unnoticed. |

| It isn't monthly, it's more like every 4 mos I think. Is there a reason why you aren't spaying her? It will reduce her chances of developing cancer and you won't have to put up with unnecessary mess. There are "diapers" you can put on her but these are not used for preventing her from getting pregnant. If I read right, your male is neutered but I have read here on YT that he could still "tie" with her, possibly injuring either or both of them. She could be coming into heat as we speak. Have you discussed spaying with your Vet?

| I was scared too. Willow is small, actually she is over weight now, but when she was spayed she was small. I wanted to wait until she would get as big as possible and I misjudged. She came in heat at 10 mos. Two days before she was to be spayed!!! She didn't show much but it was a mess just the same. Not too much blood but some yellow fluid mixed in, sorry I don't remember what it is called but someone on here will. She wants in my lap all the time, she's there now, and I had to keep a blanket down on my lap all the time and was constantly wiping up after her with disinfectant wipes. Because of all the harmonal changes going on and more of the heat cycle that you don't see, my Vet didn't spay her for months after she stopped showing. My Vet is really good and she did tell me that even tho she had had one heat her chances for cancer were still very small. Good luck and yours may not show quite so much as mine did.

| They do sell diapers to keep them from bleeding everywhere. My female (who will be 8 mos at the end of this month) is getting spayed on the 18th. She is not quite 4 lbs, and my vet feels confident about spaying her. If I were you, I would check out your local ASPCA like felicity said and see. Good luck!
