| How to introduce a 2nd baby to the family? Help! Jealous Yorkie!! Hi everyone!! Nina has a new friend!!! My 1-year old yorkie has now a 4-month old baby-boy to play with! I thought she would be thrilled but she's not. He arrived this morning and so far she has been cornering him and taking advantage that he's so much smaller! Bartolomeu is very tired from his very long flight and he's just laying there defenseless. I want them to be really good friends. Can you tell me what I should and shouldn't do in this circunstance? Thank you! New pics coming soon! He's adorable!!!

| Congrats on the new addition. Don't panic - it took a lot longer than I expected for my 2 to get along, but they did eventually. Just remember to give #1 a lot of attention!! Good luck!

Nina will need time to adjust but she will do in a few weeks . You'll have to show them that you love them both the same because if Nina feel rejected , she can give a very hard time to the little one . Hope to see pictures soon . | |

| Take it slow I suggest that you put the new baby in a crate or carrier so that Nina can see and smell him. Once they have a chance to get used to seeing and smelling each other let them have physical contact with each other. This could take a couple of hours. It might be days before Nina accept him but take it slow you don't want to reamatize the new baby. |

| Lots of attention for both. It will take a few days, but they will become best friends. Nina isn't sure if your new baby is there for a visit or a new life time friend. When one takes a nap, give the other lots of one on one love. Make sure not to leave them alone, they need time to adjust to eachother. Good Luck! Please keep us posted.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | It will defintely take a couple of weeks for your older one to get used to the new addition...make sure to give her lots of extra love and attention and try to encourage her to play gently with her new brother...like chewing on a toy or bone together..don't leave them alone together until they are both settled together...it will take some time but they will soon become the best of friends!!

| I agree with everyone! It took exactly 5 days for Pippa to start accepting Scout. I thought I had made a huge mistake getting him, because she wouldn't come near me and kept looking at me like "how could you?" They couldn't make it without each other now! Give them some time.
