| Will a sweater damage a long coat? I have fallen in love with a sweater that Jenny has for sale but I have never put Daisy in a sweater. She has a full coat and I am thinking maybe it will create mats? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | The short answer is unfortunately Yes. Mats and the rubbing will break hair. What I have done, is wrap coat, put on a silk wrapping jacket, and then Razz's winter coat goes on top. Once we are done with our walk, off comes the jacket.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | As a pet owner, I never found that wearing clothes was that hard on Joey's coat, the only thing that was hard on it was playing with a Shih Tzu who loved to put his paws on Joey's back. When Joey was a puppy, he did get little mats under his arms after wearing clothes, but this stopped when his adult coat came in. I agree with Gemy, if you are growing the coat for show, you probably wouldn't want use clothing and even your choice of bed fabrics is important. I think many use silk for beds. So is Daisy a show dog, or just a beautiful pet? There are also silk undershirts you can buy that are said to protect against damage.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | A silk wrapping jacket or silk-lined garment will help with breaking and the matting, but anything you put on a yorkie, will causes mats/breaking if worn very long. You could let Daisy wear the sweater for a bit and then make sure you get her brushed out.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I spent 10 minutes looking for that thread of yours, do you still make the silk camisoles?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Lol, that's why I did a search for "silk undershirts"! I guess Yorkies are kind of metrasexual anyway, the boys are beautiful and if they can wear topknots and bows, what's wrong with camisoles?

| I have been chastised over the past couple of weeks by people on the street for putting purplish/lavender scrunchies in my boys' topknots. Can't wait for these people to see my boys in bows. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Lol, I have a pink and lavender bunny bow we do at Easter, I got some razzing from my sons, they should just be glad that I didn't do that to them! People are chastising you for lavender scrunchies, I hate the term "get a life", but come on.

Reno is in long coat and with the exception of letting him wear sweaters occasionally, have found it better for his coat to do without sweaters. Someday, I will cut his hair and then he care wear all of the nice sweaters I've already bought and put away just for the days. OP....Is Jenny...Poochieheaven....is it an Oscar Newman sweater? I am in love with that Gingerbread sweater and so want to get it for Reno, but am trying to justify another sweater to be put back until that day (?)

| Thanks. Even tho she isn't a show dog, she has been blessed with a beautiful coat. So I have been able to grow it long. I'll try to find a silk wrapping jacket or T Shirt. It is not something she would wear all the time only when she goes out. |
