As a pet owner, I never found that wearing clothes was that hard on Joey's coat, the only thing that was hard on it was playing with a Shih Tzu who loved to put his paws on Joey's back. When Joey was a puppy, he did get little mats under his arms after wearing clothes, but this stopped when his adult coat came in. I agree with Gemy, if you are growing the coat for show, you probably wouldn't want use clothing and even your choice of bed fabrics is important. I think many use silk for beds. So is Daisy a show dog, or just a beautiful pet?

There are also silk undershirts you can buy that are said to protect against damage.
