| Trying to prevent an accident before it happens, neighbors... This makes the 5th time that we've had a loose and large dog in our backyard (just since we've had Khloe, we've had them visit many times before). Khloe just saw the dog on our back porch through the glass door and flipped out. The dog didn't seem to react to her craziness from the inside, but I really wish my neighborhood would keep a watch on their dogs. I'm not sure how the dog would have reacted or how she would have reacted had there not been a glass door in between them. And we have horrible traffic in the front; I really don't want their dog or mine to get hit by a car. Thus, I really wish they wouldn't give their dogs the opportunity to slip away. I'm trying to keep peace in the neighborhood, but I don't want anything to anyone's dog to end terribly.

| Harsh as it may seem, I would call your local Animal Control. I am sure there would be a leash law in your neighbourhood. Also, someone could end up getting bit.

| I hear people calling from their yard for the dog to return, so I am not sure if they would get here in time to see it loose. And I don't want anything other than peace with my neighbors. How does that work? Will they at least go and talk to them, and keep my name anonymous? I've never had to call before, so I'm clueless about the Animal Control policies and procedures. And I don't want them to lose their dog, I just want them to keep it in their yard and keep it safe.

| I've only had to call animal control once and that was about 10 years ago. Dog was roaming, dug a hole into my back yard and when I went to pick my female Lhasa up the stray bit me. They never did find the owner as far as I know. Oh, there was another time that a dog was roaming in the street. Called animal control, and they said they would come out but could my husband get it and keep it until they got here! No-one could get near the dog. Two animal control guys couldn't even get it - but the female that was with them was able to catch it. None of the dogs belonged to neighbours. We know our neighbours who have dogs and none of them are big dogs. I don't know if they keep the complaints anonymous, I would think they would otherwise people would be reluctant to complain.

I will call and ask them if it is kept private, and if so, I will call without hesitation next time. The dog was tagged and looked well-kept, but I heard kids calling for it. I have a 5 and 6 year old, but they don't go outside unsupervised alone or with Khloe.
