I am not upset at all. Just making it clear that if people buy it is because they CHOOSE to. Not being accepted as an adopter by a rescue is a lame excuse for anyone to buy. There are pups being euthanized every single day in shelters across the country.....yorkies included. I will say that there are more in certain states, but the bottom line is that there are more than there is room in rescue. You very well could be a great adopter...I am not disputing that at all. The bottom line, the rescue denied you for their reasons...whether we think it is right or not...and you found a way to get a pup without buying from a pet store! That does not make rescue bad OR legitimize people buying from pet stores! I make NO excuses for being extremely choosy about where my foster pups go. I cannot save every dog, but I can sure as heck promise the ones that I do rescue a lifetime of happiness and being well cared for. If I miss a good adopter, that is a shame, BUT I just do not want to make mistakes. It is the life of a defenseless little being who has already been through hell on earth. Most of those I take have really been through a ringer. I wish I could save them all....the fact is it is impossible. Back yard breeders and mills will not ever be stopped by rescue. It is not rescues fault that they exist! It is also not rescues' job to satisfy the wants of people. We are into saving dogs! If people really want to help stop the bad and excess breeding that is going on the best way, in my opinion, is to help with their state's legislation regarding the rights of animals.

You could have been an absolute dream home for the pup but maybe you don't have a fenced in yard, steps, or visiting children/babies, cats, carpet, pool..... could be a number of things. Foster parents get to know the dog before just sending it to a home that has red a few books or owned yorkies in the past, they make sure that the home is the LAST one that dog will ever need.

Actually, that is a good thing. The numbers of yorkies in shelters here in TX is staggering. I am not kidding when I say that you could adopt a yorkie from a shelter any day of the week in this state.

| Thank you all for your advice and I respect the advice I got from the rescue volunteers - it was exactly what I was looking for. As I stated I am a very focused and aggressive person when I want something and I am the first to admit sometimes I am a tad pushy. Now for the GOOD NEWS!!!! Sophie Kate and I are going for an interview with the rescue Atlanta Pet Rescue on Saturday. Standard procedure, they want to meet us both. They have been very honest and told everyone who applied this DOES NOT mean you are approved, it is an interview for approval. Either way I am excited, this is the furthest I have gotten with a rescue and hopefully even passing the interview will help me with if not this dog one in the future (if it meant to be). Thanks again everyone.
