You've received great advice so far. My Lulu weighed just over 1 lb at 8 weeks. She didn't come home with us until she was almost 14 weeks old & right at 2 lbs. I am so glad she stayed the extra time with her furmommy & littermates. She adjusted so easily when she did get to come home & we've had no hypoglycemia episodes at all.

It really is best if your baby can stay with her furmommy until 12 weeks & 2 lbs...it will make your life eaiser when she does come home. And it really is best for the puppy as well.

It looks like a pretty real option is to babysit the MOM and your pup when the breeder goes back to school, as you will be home and able to feed Mom, and make sure pup is happy and fed too.

Only two dogs. Mom and pup for at least a couple of more weeks. that could work yes?no? maybe?

i will see if i can watch her mother as well. but if thats not possible fro some reason, would it make a difference if she saw her mother daily, or every other day?

Gemy and I bothed advised that the best option was to keep the mom and pups yourself until the pups were 12 weeks. Since the breeder is going back to school. She won't be able to watch the mom either. Mom is still not out of the woods as eclampsia can still develop and there a chance of pyometritis after a whelp too.

Trust me when i say... its no fun worrying about if your little girl is gonna be ok. Poppy came home yesterday and i found out when she was at home that she is only 5weeks old. Its horrible and i am constantly worrying about her and if she is going to be ok and if she is getting enough fluid and food etc. Its really not fun to worry about them this much. See if she can stay with the fur mum a tiny bit longer not just for the pups sake but for yours, i would hate you to go through what i am going through right now. Good luck xxx

the other puppies will be gone tomorrow as well, and idk who they are going to. as i said i will try to watch both dogs, well 3 because the breeder owns the mom and dad of Hazel. Thank you everyone.

Not too concerned for the pups sake about the Dad, Mom and Pup great, and if the only way is to take the Dad too, then I guess that would be best.

If there is a way you can keep your pup with the MOM, that would be best.
