I didn't mean both dogs weren't registered. But to get more money they would register the puppies as offspring of the one with the better pedigree.

Those type of breeders are what you call pedigree hunters. That's how they advertise their pups; Championed sired....Champion lines, it's away to fool the unsuspecting public.

What you described is done here all the time....but, just let the AKC come in and do a DNA check...they'll be suspended for life and all those pedigrees will mean nothing.

By the time the pup is a year old, isn't it obvious that they don't resemble the registered parents?

You know that can happen anyway, especially if you aren't line breeding and just putting two dogs together.

Thank you everone so so much.

Last night i was so upset and very VERY scared. I dunno what i would have done without u all, i cant say i big enough thank you. We went to bed last night and Poppy went right to sleep. I set my alarm for 2.30am and i went off to sleep myself. She woke up at 1.45am crying. Haha she has a right little howl on her..... good set of lungs lol :D. I gave her a syringe of milk, she didnt want any tho but i got it into her. She went right back off to sleep after a cuddle and woke up a few times but i just talked to her and she seemed ok. She woke up about 7am this morning and i tried to get some milk into her but she would have any of it. she seemed ok i think she just wanted a cuddle.

Its now 9.15am I made up some dry food and added hot lactol milk over it and let it go soggy. Then i mashed it up and she has around 4 mouth fulls. I then gave her a syringe full of milk 1.3ml and i also gave her a syringe full of water so she wont get dehydrated. I also put a little nutri cal on my finger and let her chew my finger lol.

She seems to be ok she was just been chewing on her teddys ear lol and growling at it. Now shes gone back off to sleep.

Ok now a few more questions.
1.How much milk per day do i need to be giving her?
2.How much water?
3.How much food per day?

Thank you so much for ALL your help xxx

Natasha good morning it's quite early here in this time zone. Question for you does she drink water on her own? Place a saucer of water out for her when next she wakes up and see if she will drink from it. Let her have as much water as she wants. Ideally she would have something to eat and drink every 3hrs or so.

She will likely only eat a couple of tbsp's of food at one meal. At least 5 meals per day. I would try feeding her every 3hrs or so. And let her eat as much as she wants but try to encourage her to eat at least a tablespoon or two at each meal.

Has she eliminated yet? Pee'd or pooed?

Morning, What time is it over there?

I leave milk out for her but she wont drink it, I'll try some water next time she wakes up. She has not done a wee today, she did two last night one before she went to bed and i think during the night because her bedding was wet so i had to change it this morning. She has not done a wee today tho and she has not had a a poo since she has been here. Shes been here since 5.30pm last night its now 10.30am?? should i be worried? xxx

The time here is 5:30am. Okay next time she wakes up - immediately place her on her wee pad. See if she goes. Let her play a bit in her xpen, or by you on the floor. Puppies life is play, eat, sleep, eliminate :)If she doesn't poo, you can try a warm damp facecloth and wipe her little tummy and butt down, this might help to stimulate her to go poo.

No need to worry right now if she hasn't poo'd yet.

Don't leave milk out it can spoil quite quickly in this heat.

I'm going to try to get a bit more sleep. If you have some more questions you can private message any of the responders on your thread, by clicking on their name and the option to send a private message will pop up. Good morning Natasha. Is Poppy still sleeping?
You are doing a great job looking after your baby.

Keep putting the water on your finger and hold it up to her mouth.

gemy 08-08-2010 04:15 AM

Some reading material if you haven't got to it yet

All About Vacccinations .... Dodd

In the YT Library you can print this off and bring to your vet too.

Another update. Poppy is doing fine. She had some milk at 1:30 and i think i am going to feed her ever 4 hours :D She was playing before biting my fingers and climing up my chest to lick my chin and bite my nose haha. What a little stinker. Her breath smells like eggs haha! She is in the middle of having more puppy dreams right now. :) xxx

If she hasn't poo'd, take a cotton ball and soak it with warm water, squeeze some of the water out and massage anus, this should stimulate her to potty.

You might try a pet bottle to give to give her her milk. This will help her satisfy her sucking instincts.

Sometimes I use a sprinkle of Parmasean cheese to entice pups to eat. Something about the stinky smell that they like.

Again there is a sticky in the Breeding Section of this forum. It is the recipe for Whelping Pudding. My pups love this. I use it for my nursing moms and at weaning time. You can also try cottage cheese.

furbutt 08-08-2010 05:29 AM

You are fantastic thank you!! Where would i get a pet bottle from? Right i think i will try this thank you ever so much. xxx
