You need to get a car...... take the puppy back to the breeder...... and demand a full cash refund immediately or you will file a complaint with the local authorities that this breeder is not following proper rules in regard to age of puppies he/she is selling.....

You will have nothing but trouble with this puppy being sold at this age.

Of course you won't do this.............. you'll just complain when you have excessive vet bills.

You don't know that for sure. Mine came home at 6 wks and is now 14 yrs old. Let's encourage her for all that she is doing for this pup, not chastise her.

Checking for updates on Poppy and glad she is doing well :D
Which milk are you giving her? Is it in little cartons with a golden lab puppy on the front? If it is thats what I gave my Poppy and she was obsessed with it LOL forget the dinner it was milk milk milk all the way so I had to take it from her :)
What did the RSPCA say about this? I think you should report him to the KC too if he is making a living from breeding... because the fact that he didnt register his litter probably means he's not a licensed breeder.... surely something can be done about that? I hope so anyway :)

Big Poppy sends Little Poppy puppy kisses! x

Yeah Poppy is doing great :D I am giving her TopLife Puppy Milk in the little carton. Its made from goats milk... and she loves it lol. Might limit it to once a day tho because she is only eating a bit of food and drinking loads of milk lol. I have not heard back from the RSPCA yet  maybe they are busy or something. I will update when i hear something.

Poppy loved them little puppy kisses from big Poppy haha :p xxx

Maybe you should limit her intake of the milk then look into taking it off her all together.
The vet told me when Poppy was 6 weeks I shouldnt be giving her puppy milk because she had already been weaned and should just give her water.
So I took it straight off her and she started eating her food again.
Will keep checking for updates from the RSPCA :)

Glad she's doing well. Check to see if her little milk teeth have begun coming in. If they have, you might think of adding a bit of Baby rice cereal to it or soaking a few ground up puppy kibbles in it. Don't forget to add a bit of Corn Syrup, just a bit to keep her from getting constipated.

Oh! anytime you make changes to her food you need to give a probiotic. In the states we use Benebac, it comes in a package of 6 small tubes.

Pipers 08-10-2010 09:41 AM

So glad to hear Poppy is doing better. I would also be excited to see the little one poo, it's such a mom thing!! She has a mommy who loves her and is proactive in helping her along, she will do fine. Keep in touch with the vet with any questions, I've had animals all my life and anytime would call them, no matter how busy, they always called by the end of the day and are very patient with questions.

Can't wait to hear about more of her progress.

I remember when Piper was that tiny...you will enjoy seeing her grow and change.

Yesterday i was so scared and worried it was HORRIBLE i never want to feel like that again. Today even i was so upset and was crying on the phone to the vet. I really have no idea what i would have done if i didt know about TY when i seen the pedigree papers. If i hadnt come on here and got all the advice and support then i dunno if my Poppy would even be alive by now and if she was she would be very sick. I cant thank evenry one enough.... Genes, Beamers Mom and Mardelin are my litle shining stars :D I ask some stupid questions because i aint to bright lol but everyone here is always willing to help.... cant ask for anything more :D Just so happy my little girl is doing ok. I wil update everyone 2morrow when i get back from the vets :D xxx

Natasha, please don't put yourself down. I think you are doing a wonderful job trying to protect Poppy and keeping her healthy. You are a wonderful mom! You and Poppy are both very lucky to have each other. Keep asking questions. I personally have had Yorkies for 30 years, and before that my mother got one when I first started college. Throughout the years, I have always tried to learn as much as I could so that I could keep my babies happy, safe, and healthy, and the learning never stops. I am thrilled that I found Yorkie Talk last August. It is such a wonderful community of people, and it has warmed my heart to see so many people reaching out to help and support others. I love your signature! It is very sweet. I hope you enjoy many, many years of love, health, and happiness with your little girl.

I personally want to thank Mary, Gail, and Sylvia for being there for Natasha and Poppy. You have been truly amazing.

I'm so sorry you had to go through all this mess. I'm just seeing this thread now for the first time. You've been given excellent advice from those who were being helpful..I can only imagine your panic when you discovered she was only 5 weeks old!

My breeder just txt me asking how Poppy was... i dunno why he would do this after the way he spoke to me yesterday because he relly didnt care about her last night.

In his text he said the people who where ment to be buying the other puppys from Poppys liter have let him down and he is going to have to re advertise the puppies... he asked if i wanted to take another puppy at a reduced price!!! I AM IN SHOCK. I txt him back saying poppy is fine and that i think the other puppies should stay with there mother untill 12 weeks of age after the trouble i have had with poppy and i could not afford to look after two dogs.

He just txt me back telling me he is happy poppy is ok and he ignored what i had said about the puppys being kept with there mother untill 12weeks and he continued to tell me that him and his husband are having a take away and a drink tonight!!!!! Ugh i dont think what this breeder is doing is right and its annoyed me he has had the cheek to txt me and ask if i would like another puppy.

I am going to phone the RSPCA now and see if they can do something so that the puppys stay with there mother untill they are 12 weeks old. I can but try xxx

Sounds like your breeder had second thoughts about being rude to you, and was trying to make amends of a sort to protect his butt! I'm sure he knows what he's doing isn't right, and now may be worried that you will report him!

Poppy sounds like a little angel. And your enthusiasm when you post about her is heartwarming. You are doing a brilliant job as Poppy's Mommie, don't let anyone tell you any different. Just peeked at her pics.... adorable!
