| You might suggest to them how badly their behaviors will be viewed once you have one of the nationally syndicated dog behavior TV shows pop in to do a segment on "them" and your puppy...lol! ![]() ![]() I hate to admit it but...it is hard to find good disciplined grandparents for furkids and skinkids, too!

| Love the 3 clap rule. Might have to use that. Everyone always laughs at me because I speak to Kasha like she's one of my students. :-) On the grandparents thing; I wrote my mom up a list of rules and put them up on the fridge. I also had her help me review training with Kasha and explained why she was learning things a specific way & why we couldn't break the rules. She's coming around and will no longer "drop" tasties on the floor. Good luck!

| My parents do the same thing they can't stand when she is begging them for food, everytime my dad eats he gives her food and I tell him No all the time they don't listen, so now when they are eating I just take Dori away into my room. I would just try to prevent it like whenever they are eating take the dog away into her crate or something! |

I'm sorry I don't have any specific advice of my own. With all my research, I've already made it clear to my family that is it my rules that go, no exceptions. Everyone is on the training boat with me and I will be compiling reading for them and strict guidelines before Rylie arrives in November. I made sure they were on the same page as me for developing a well behaved pet. ![]() Maybe put it into terms they can understand? Like what would I have turned out like if you had spoiled me that much and let me break all the rules??? Maybe once you make that comparison they will see her more as a child not to be spoiled or they will exhibit bad and embarrassing behavior when they grow up and less like a cute little harmless puppy. | |
