| Playing with the Big Boys This a picture of Fizz on her first walk at 14 weeks (after her second set of shots were in effect). Within 5 minutes of being on the trail - we were surrounded by doggy giants and my heart was pounding. Luckily, all of the dogs we encountered were well trained with responsible owners and Fizz was busy smelling butts (when she could reach lol) and touching noses in no time!

| I am overprotective just looking at those photos. Mind sending your husband south? I need some help at the dog park.

| LOL I'm rather attached to him!!! Seriously though - it's hard to find a balance between protecting them and allowing for proper socialization. For me it's a work in progress. When I'm by myself I always err on the side of caution.

| Oh Fizz you are so brave...WOW....what cute pictures. You are such an adorable furbaby....looks like you had fun. I give you credit I couldn't let Lexi that close...although I must say she met a pitbull mixed when we were in Sanibel. And we all had to laugh at the time because he was afraid of Lexi go figure

| Oh my gosh, is that a Giant Schnauzer? Great pics, but this is what is going to be a struggle for me when I bring my new pup home. How do you properly socialize them and still keep them safe? |

Because this way Fizz can get safe socialization with all types of dogs, and hubby will know to say let's go south instead of meet up with a particular dog. I have two large dogs at home along with my YOrkie so my problem is Razz thinks every big dog is like his pack mates. No Fear, he'll run up a latch onto beards if I'd let him.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | My bestest suggestion is if you are a New Yorkie owner, to take your pup once all shots are done to puppy obedience classes. A controlled environment, all pups there, albeit of different sizes, and he/she will learn in one of the safest environments they can

| I'm the same with Brandi, very overprotective. I have a harness on Brandi so if I need to scoop her quickly I can do so without breaking her neck. There's been a few times when an overzealous, very playful lab in my neighborhood wanted to play with Brandi and Brandi mistook it for a threat and would lung after him. I would just scoop her up without hurting her because of the harness. |

| Aww! These photos are so cute! You two are so brave! I'm going to be a wreck when I take Fynnlie out for his first walk! I'll probably end up carrying him the whole time! So cute! I'm glad everything went well!
