| ![]() Okay so here's the story on Miss Mercy(girl with the tumor) ... she's 7.2 pounds. Dr. Jan said she could be 6 years old with 6 years of bad living or 12 years old with not so hard living. She decided to say she's about 10. These are her issues: Tumor on her lower jaw -- probably operable if we can get her strong enough for surgery, xrays showed no visible signs of it spreading to her lungs. I almost cried when I saw Dr. Jan's face as she listened to Mercy's lungs because they were very wet. I think she was expecting Mercy to have cancer throughout her body. Lung infection with fluid buildup -- they took her back for blood work to check her kidney functions but put her on a light dose of lasix immediately to help her breathing. Blood work -- she was slightly dehydrated (possibly from the fleas), slightly elevated kidney levels (probably from being dehydrated), and an elevated white count. Slightly enlarged heart -- seen on xrays, not severe and possibly from the lung infection. Possibly old spinal injury -- xrays showed two vertebrae, possibly from an old injury. She walks with a wobble which could be from the knees or the spine but Dr. Jan said it doesn't seem to cause her pain. Ear mites -- they gave her a couple of good squirts of Frontline spray. Bad knees -- not terrible enough to require treatment. Teeth -- what few she has left are rotten. Her jaw has receded significantly from tooth loss. The good news -- her HW test was negative and she does not have a heart murmur. There's no evidence of the spread of cancer and the tumor appears to be operable. i'll try to update on some of the bad ones as they go to the vet this week

| ![]() The pictures were heartbreaking! What in the H*ll is wrong with those people? I can't understand how they could be so cruel! I hope they throw the book at them! Thank you so much for the care and love that you are providing those poor babies! |

| ![]() Those pictures are so unbelievable to me. I am new to YT and had not had exposure to Yorkie rescues until now. It tears me apart to see the misery dogs have to endure.

| ![]() Can you imagine how many more of these puppy mills there are, and the misery these little dogs are going through. It makes me sick to think about it. I read that Oklahoma is 2nd in the nation for puppy mills. They have just GOT to pass legislation to stop this cruelty! I'd like to stuff these horrible people in a tiny cage and leave them in the heat with no food or water, sick and suffering to see how it feels!!! But that's too good for them. Thank you OK Yorkie Rescue for all you do. You are truly saints in action and we all appreciate you so much for what you do.

| ![]() If they didn't do anything to her, I wonder if this woman will be able to get more dogs and treat them the same way? Or is she banned from ever owning/raising dogs again?

| ![]() I can't see why she isn't at least charged with animal cruelty for not providing medical care for these poor little creatures. What county was this in? Can we flood them with emails or letters? |

And remember, you don't have to be an Okie to write to our legislature about this!! If you want names/addresses of our state senators and congressmen, please pm me and I will be glad to provide them. We need everyone to write in about this. Please!! Kelly, thank you for the update on Mercy. I pray that you and Dr. Jan will find a course of treatment for her that will give her time to know a little kindness and love in her life. I'm sending prayers and lots of hugs for all these babies. Bonny

| ![]() Ms. Snow WAS arrested and taken to jail in Oklahoma County. She spent a few nights there but then was released and we later found out that no charges will be filed in OK County against her. But there was another County involved, Cleveland County, where they took all the puppies. It is my understanding that she had the puppies in a different location from the adult dogs. We are hearing that Cleveland County intends to prosecute this case. They have not allowed the public to see these puppies but we have heard that some of them were in pretty bad shape. I do wish that both counties would prosecute her and she would never be able to do this again. But my biggest fear is that this just slowed her down and she might be back in business if this doesn't stop. I was also worried that Cleveland County would release the puppies or younger ones to the public unspayed and unneutered. We have been told they would be available for adoption and not released to any rescues so that they could recover some of their expenses. But did hear they plan to vet them all...spay/neuters, shots, hw testing. Thank God! I was afrain that Ms. Snow would send all her family and friends to adopt and the vicious cycle would start over again. I am on my work computer so I don't have pictures of my 2 fosters here but I will post some this evening. I have Richie, a beautiful chocolate yorkie. Richie is 4 yrs. old and 13.5 lbs. He is one of the few healthy ones, maybe the only healthy one. I also have Jagger who has no bone in his lower jaw due to the horrible oral infection. No telling how long he has had it for it to get to this point. But the good news is with good food, some antibiotic, a clean, warm place to sleep, he is eating well and has shown signs of improvement since his release from the shelter on Tuesday. I will get those pictures on her this evening so you can see my 2 babies. Thank you all so very much for your support! This has been a huge undertaking for our rescue but with your help and support we have been able to take these pitiful babies in and give them hope for a much better future. |
