Alright everyone. 'Monster' just went home to his family.

The lady called me and gave me a description and it fit him to a T. She came over with her laptop and showed me pictures and even brought her female yorkie along.

I feel good... but sad at the same time. She is an uninformed owner and did not know that neutering him might help curb his marking. She also thinks that her dogs cannot have babies because they aren't 'interested' in eachother.

She tried to give me $50, but I wouldn't let her and asked her to just get him neutered instead of giving me money. I gave her the name of the vet I called today and the time he was scheduled to be neutered. I am really hoping she follows through and gets him fixed.

She said she wants to pay me to cut her dog's hair. I will do it for free just so I know they do not stay matted like they are.

I guess there isn't much I can do now... just be happy he is home again :(

Congrats to Monster! I'm glad he's home with the people who love him. (I think) I really hope they get him fixed.

Aww I'm so glad he found his family and God bless you for all that you did for that little guy! You gave her some very important information and it was completely selfless of you not to accept money :) Hopefully he will be taken care much better now!! :)

You should feel very good about what you have done. I hope your attempt to educate the owner a bit sunk in and she will have him neutered. You may have prompted her to seek more info which could in turn better the lives of both her dogs. Yeah!:thumbup:

Exactly... think that you may be able not only to rescue one yorkie, but 2 and keep them in their original home... sounds a little different from standard rescue, but if you can educate the family and spare both dogs from suffering you have accomplished double rewarding good work :D

At least your guess work is finished .:rolleyes:

awwwwww I love that Monster found his owner. He must have been terrified on the run. Thank you so much for getting him home and informing his owner of what she needed to do.

That's is good news that you were able to find his owners. The trouble with pet ownership is that we do not all give the same type of care for out pets. It stinks but there is always EDUCATION and that is what you have tried to do with this owner.

What I see from this is the bigger picture that she wants you to groom her two pups and that is a GREAT way to keep in touch with her. ;)

Think of it this way~there is always education going on with YT and our members. We keep talking and spreading the word and now if you keep in touch with this owner maybe you can do the same with her. :)

How old do you think this pair is anyway? Do you think the little girl has been in heat previously? This woman might be in for a BIG surprise very soon :eek: She might think that since they are not spayed and neutered they would want to "do it all the time" and not just went in heat. If I were you I would just keep in contact and don't push it too much. Stay friendly and you just might be able to persuade her into doing the right thing.

You can't assume that his family doesn't care about him. They may infact be searching for him and he could have came from anywhere. If he's been missing for sometime then of coarse he'd be matty and starving. I only read the first few post so not sure how this ended up..... I'll read the rest now.

I think they are around 3-5 years old? She told me she thought her female was pregnant once, but lost the babies. I just hope she follows through and fixes Monster and she won't have to worry about puppies.

She said he marks all over her house as well, so I'm hoping the possibility of curbing that behavior is enough motivation to get him neutered :)

If they're around 3-5 years old, neutering might not be enough alone. He's going to need training to understand that bad habit can only be done outside.

Her house must be a smelly mess if he is marking everywhere! :eek: Neutering will not fix the problem~for sure~if he has been marking for years. In addition to neutering she needs belly bands and a LOT of Nature's Miracle and a black light to clean up all the urine.

Just keep working on her and hopefully she will follow through. Really the female needs to be spayed too. What if she got out while in heat? :( You need to get it out there to her that she is raising the risk of mammary cancer with each heat for her little female too.

I know I am preaching to the choir but~it just makes me feel better. :rolleyes:

I know this, but I'm hoping that I convinced her that it will fix it and she will get him neutered. At this point, I'm just crossing my fingers that she follows through and I can help her with other issues afterwards.
