That poor girl obviously has not experienced being loved by a Yorkie! One of my obnoxious neighbor called my gang 'rats' too & I just ignored him. He's an exterminator & I was thinking to myself, 'rats? they can probably help you catch them...idiot.' kekeeke

I would probably have responded as Rachel would but OH I love your response LD! That is one to remember!!! And Bailey is absolutely stunning! Mia thinks he looks nothing like a rat. But she thinks she could take the rat out just like she does Squekie Squirrel

It's so true Darlene, there's stupid people eveywhere! He is one gorgeous boy!! Lots of people have come up to Zhoie and said, "is that a rat, or not much of a dog, better rat" that type thing. I say, well hell, you should see her wet, she's even cuter that she is now.. Then I kiss Zhoie and say..huh..ms beautiful, yeah, you mommy's gorgeous little girlie, kissie, kissie! Funny, they all walk off, LOL.

Darlene...don't let that lady bother you. I remember when I first got Maddie, my hubby's side of the family said she looked like a little rat. I was ticked too but then considered the source. Rats are ugly...yorkies are not! Some people are so stupid! Hugs and kisses to your darling Bailey!

Too many people speak before thinking. "Looks like a rat" has become a cliche for any small dog by people who don't know any better.

Baily is beautiful and there is no reason for you to be hurt by some stupid person that has some kind of agenda that involves negative comments.

On another note, I think I would have backed my car up and asked her to repeat it because I didn't think I heard her right. If she fessed up and said it again I would reply "you are a very ignorant rude person that ought not to be working with the public."

Well, I heard the same comment many times from people who loves large breeds and i understand... i am never bothered by the comment. We have a Lab lover/owner in our family who is always teasing me, he adores the dogs, but he mentioned they look like rats many times, and he gets our puppies and "rub them" in his face saying he can use them as a bath sponge... hheheh... just teasing me to make me get back on him. But at the end he also adores our dogs as we love his lab 'lady' ... you just need to let it pass and respect that not every person will like dogs, or cats, or small, or large breeds... it is what makes this world very diverse ! people are different and have different likes and dislikes !
Your boy knows you do not think he looks like a rat ... the rest ... do not really matter .

Don't feel to bad. One of my friends calls Brandi a rat all the time. Truth is she does look like rat when she is wet. I teased him about his dog all the time. He has the goofiest dog in the world. He has a labadoodle. No agility or grace at all.

One of my sons called my dogs rats. I just called his big Lab a horse and figure we're even. It doesn't bother me at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and really, I don't think he meant anything by it anyways.
