To get snipped (neutered). I've noticed a few aggressive behaviors I'm hoping we can nip in the bud by altering his hormone level. The vet seems confident that the neuter will take care of this.

Funny thing, while he's displaying certain new behaviors, old one's have disappeared. Tensley no longer frantically paces or humps the cat. That's a good thing!

My pup is almost 4 months and humps EVERYTHING in sight! Haha he even humped my arm when I bent down to pick him up! I'm looking forward to getting him neutered when he's older because he nips a lot when he plays and I've been constantly working on his nibbling/biting issues. I've associated that with teething but his nips are really starting to hurt! I wonder if that is one of the behaviors your vet is referring to being able to change?

You need to begin correcting any undesirable behaviors now. A neuter will not be a magical fix to aggression. What exactly is he doing that is aggressive?

Humping is not sexual in a puppy it is dominance to you or whatever else he is humping. If he does this just distract him with a toy and redirect his attention.

You puppy is still a baby and yes he is teething. If he bites at your hands inappropriately once again redirect his attention to a chew toy to help with teething. How old was he when you got him? Sometimes when they leave their mother and litter mates too early they will have inappropriate behaviors. Neutering will not help with biting associated with teething.

Yeah he was only 9 weeks old when his breeder gave him to me and unfortunately I wasn't as knowledgeable then as I am now about that sort of thing I reeeally wish I had kept him with his mother and litter mates until 12 weeks because his nibbling and biting is getting really bad. I've tried everything and some stuff seems to be working as his bites are more tame and not as hard but he still has a way to go on that. He's 14 weeks now.

When he starts to bite have a bully stick or some type of chew available for him. If he continues to try to bite you walk away or turn your back on him and ignore his behavior. Never try to hold him down or dominate him this will only make it worse. Praise him when he is gentle. Use lots of treats to get him to behave appropriately while praising him. You should be able to teach him sit and stay too. By Doodlebug did all kinds of tricks at a very young age. You can use Cheerios as a treat. I carried them around in my pocket in a Ziploc when he was a puppy. Make sure that you begin socializing him often too. Sign up for a puppy class. You can work on sit, paw and stay. When Dbug was a tiny puppy and he did tricks people were always amazed that he knew so much. He will catch on very quickly but you need to do very short sessions. Good luck...........
