| Another Puppy Mill Reported I was reading the paper this morning and came across yet another ad from this puppy mill here in the county. 2 yrs. ago I bought one of their puppies, ( before I was educated on mills ) and I noticed how bad their conditions were. This has been bothering me for a very long time so when I saw their ad this morning I made up my mind these people have to be stopped! This Amish family was advertising a yorkie and yorkie/maltese mixed. I got in my car and drove to their house, as soon as I got out of my car the smell about knocked me down. Her yorkie was sold, she said it was the only survivor of the litter because the mom was so young. After looking ( investigating ) at 4 different breeds for sale ranging from 175.00 to 350.00 I had enough! I drove to the animal control office and filed a sworn report. They said they would have their investigator look into it and would be getting in touch with me. Sorry for such a long post, I am so upset on how anybody could treat animals in such a horrible way.. |

| Kudos to you. I did not realize that a lay person could go and report a mill if you personally witnessed it. I thought only authorities had to catch them. Nice to know. We have a new one just started up close to our small town. It was one of their dogs that I had given to me because a family couldn't deal with her issues. A rescue took her and she's doing great in a loving home. On a side note....the Amish are not who they appear to be. Personal experience.

| Way to Go I wish everyone whould do this, I have tried to shut down more than one around me, It is so hard to do! they have laws in place but not enough and they don't inforse them in N.C . Makes me mad to, they are getting better but still not good enough, it makes me sick too. I have seen first hand how bad the babies in these places live. I am sick to hear about it. they only care about the money! nothing else! I can't beleive they still get away with it. But it brakes my heart to say they do. I am so gald to see someone so brave to do what you did, I will pray for those babies and for all that are still suffering. let us know please if they shut them down

| Good for you for doing the right thing! There is an internet war going on with a breeder near here...she is accused of having a puppy mill and selling to brokers. To watch the war take place on her website as well as rip off report.com, it is horrible.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Great, I'm so glad you learned about puppy mills and have become involved in stopping them. One thing we can all do is tell everyone buying a dog to not buy a dog over the internet without doing a home inspection. Breeders who sell directly to public do not have to register with any agencies and so there are no inspections of any kind and they don't pay taxes (that might bother some of you.) Please, before buying a puppy always insist on visiting the home of the breeder, even if it's the nice person from Yorkietalk!

| It just breaks my heart when I read about puppy mills. I did not know about puppy mills until after my daughter purchased Daisy from a local pet store. That is when it all began........health issue after health issue.......The pet store went out of business 3 yrs ago. When I researched where Daisy came from it broke my heart what I found I am so glad that she has come into my life so that I could give her a good life Now if I can get this lyme disease under control I would be so darn happy!!!

| I thought the Amish had their own laws so I wonder if the police can actually do anything?
