Have you done the puff topknot yet? That was the hardest thing I had to learn when I returned to yorkies and showing. I too took a break to raise a family. It has taken me all the 4 years of returning to do these new topkknots. It is not like the old days.

Hi Barbara..do not know if you remember me, Pat Cupp, Primrose. I was a club member also. Retired to Florida..and I am now active in the Goldcoast YTC of south FL.

Many of my dogs have Tiffany lines also. Times are very different..a lot has changed, most for the good as to the type of people in Yorkies now.. We have a wonderful club here...totally pet lover friendly..lots of actives for all to enjoy. I am on the board, treasurer etc..

Saturday was our Specialty.
I try to make the Oct show every couple years in VA...hope to see you.
Orlando specialty in August would be a great trip if you could make it.

Lots of Yorkie people have moved to Florida...Leslie Stolfi, Barb Bissel, Carol De La Penna and many more...

I remember quite clearly when I was an absolute beginner. Best advice I can give you as a beginner is to see if your local kennel club offers conformation handling classes and enroll when you get your yorkie. Sometimes a professional handler living in the area, will also offer handling classes. Then take your yorkie to matches to get them use to the environment and having a judge go over them. Practice at home setting them up on a table, and have someone check their bites, feel legs, etc. Practice the different gaiting motions in the ring. Some judges do down and back, other prefer a triangle. Lots of Luck, Barb
