| Kicking after potty Who has a dog that kicks and/or scratches after going potty? My Teddy does the happy potty dance. He kicks his hind legs out (one at a time) with such vigor and pride, and when I cheer him on, he almost looks like he is doing the moonwalk. I saw this discussed in another thread awhile back and someone wrote that the kicking and scratching has something to do with the instinct to spread the dog's scent. |

| Like a bull getting ready to charge. I like to think that they are wiping their feet.

| OMG - my Max, who is 3 yrs old, just started doing this about 6 months ago. He is hilarious!!! Hubby and I can't help but laugh... he will scratch with his back paws (one by one) - and then his front paws - and sometimes he does it sooo hard that he ends up turning himself half way around each time the other paw scratches!! I wish I could get a video of him... it's just the funniest thing we've ever seen.

| Rio does the foot scratchy dance but not after going potty. She normally does it if she wants attention or is impatiently waiting for a treat. Bullet doesn't do it - yet. He's only 4 months so maybe he'll start doing it later. It's so cute!! |

| Both Maddie and Libby do that after going potty, and recently I've seen Faith do it a couple of times. They also do it after I have brushed or groomed them. I call it the donkey kick. LOL

I know! Previously he was just preoccupied with being able to squirt on each and every tree while keeping pace with the walk. Now that he's bigger he pulls my hubby over to these trees and takes a little more time doing his "thing"! It is SO funny. I think some people were getting a big kick out of it at the doggie park a couple of weeks ago because he does do the "swaying" back and forth!

| We should and post it in the video section. After watching Max do it I started watching other dogs - and everyone seems to do it a little different.

Oh Rio is demonstrating her dominence with it, huh? Connie - Mia does it after getting a bath or her face washed, too. They keep us in stitches!
