You are right - you can't get restore dates back once you turn off system restore. Hmm....

that's true - once you lose them you can't get them back but I wondered if there was a workaround for system restore. With all that computers can do these days you'd think they'd have a fix for that

The more I read about it the more I think it's just a game. I don't think it has affected your computer at all. You may have a separate issue.

We're thinking along the same lines - I'm home for a few hours and did a quick search which I've been avoiding with my own issues - and it does look like a game

When you do a system restore does it just say "unsuccessful" at the end.

I would say forget about it for now. No reason to restore.

What antivirus program do you have? Can you run a scan just in case? I physically scan my computer about twice per week.

yes - it will tell you no changes have been made to the computer

Ye it says sysmtem restore was usuccessfull something like that I tried 4 different dates.
I use Norton internet 2009
I did a mal ware scan yesterday and a virus scan too it said there was nothing.

I've seen so many with computer issues lately - it must be in the air cause I really never have had any and what I did have was always easily fixed

I would leave it alone for now. Maybe the date thing affected it.

that is very complicated my grandson did it for me in Nov. but my computer crash anyway

and otto is a game that i had on my pc but it is lost somewhere on here i'm going to do a file search later and see where it is
