computer question?.....Otto
 

I was looking through my add and remove programs and I saw something I did not know what it was.
Otto I clicked on it and it said chaneg or remove bc there was no info on it and it dissapeard. Usually my computer will say are you sure you want to delete this program....................Did I delete something I shouldn't have

Otto is not there anymore:eek:
Does anyone know what this program does and if I need it?

i had a game name otto on my computer when i first got it was going to let a friend play it the other day and it is no longer to be found anywhere
her last name is otto that is why she wanted to play it sorry i could not help

Otto looks like it's some type of media file. Here's some information I found Accidentaly Uninstalled Program Called "Otto"[Solved] - Virtual Dr Forums-Computer Tech Support

However, if you don't have any computer issues, I wouldn't worry about it. You can always do a system restore to get it back, but for now don't worry.

Another suggestion is always do a search online to find out what exactly the programs are that you have questions about - you can read up on them then decide if you are safe to delete them - type in the full name of the file you question - then google it -

it helps alot when you want to clean up your programs but aren't sure what to remove and what to keep

I am having computer issues now! ugh!!
just what I need. I keep getting system errors so I tried to do system restore and it keeps saying unable to restore your computer at this date.
I have researched and tech forums say to turn off system restore and turn it back on..............bad advice now I lost all the system restore dates.

anyways.......I have come across where Norton will interfere with system restore tried shutting it down and still could not do a system restore.

At least I can still get online.
I need a new computer:eek:
I have ran antivirus and spyware and nothing comes up..

any suggestions......

Is your computer crashing? When are you getting these errors?

Also, you should be able to create a new system restore date. Are you on XP?

So you dont have anymore restore dates BEFORE today?

wow are alot of us having computer problems - I posted already about a trojan in my memory - my anti virus is blocking everything but that one snuck in -

I am able to be online and email and am safe to do that - scans are done with everything I do and it's a pain -

Just today I FINALLY got caught up on some pending orders (due to my mom falling and me being a wreck among other things lately) and I was able to print labels that I've been needing to do for WEEKS now -

But - thanks to this trojan - even my printer was having problems reading my computer - it took me 3-1/3 hours to print 2 sets of Cards and 4 SMALL Label orders - that's nuts - had to keep shutting it on and off and telling me I had the wrong color in a slot. Funny how the tank was half empty since I last printed yet my computer wouldn't read that one. I normally can print labels in less than 10 minutes after I've designed them

(PS - ANYONE WAITING ON LABELS I want to say you are PRINTED and thank you so much for the patience !)

OK - since I rambled - since you can get online - have you tried Trend Micro Online Scanner ? If you think you have a virus that's a very good one - it'll scan and fix any viruses if not a vicious one - or in your memory like mine is

AllDogBoots knows another one - it's a windows online scanner - didn't work for me but it may for you !!

ps - have you rebooted in SAFE MODE and tried your antivirus ? That may work too -

I looked at my event viewer to see if there were any errors bc I could not do system restore. I did find that my clocks were not in sync. I fixed that.
I had to use the time.nist.gov bc the windows time zone did not work.

I wonder if that is why I couldn't do a system restore?
my computer is working ok except for the system restore and I get an error when I try to use my passport to copy pictures which I never had a problem before.

I did not have any issues until I delted the darn Otto.

yes I have windows xp.
The only restore date I have is today and yesterday can I manualy type one in?

shoot - when someone mentioned Otto is a media program that very well could be why you can't copy your photos - that sucks

can you see if you can find a download for it or did it come with your computer (I've never heard of it)

Otto could also have been a game. It's either a game or a media file, neither of which should affect you that much.

I don't know what you mean when you say you try to use your passport...

You are right - you can't get restore dates back once you turn off system restore. Hmm....
